Following the announcement of Michael Schumacher's retirement, Ferrari confirmed that Kimi Raikkonen joins on a three-year deal and Massa's contract has been extended for another two seasons.

Massa is now contracted until the end of 2008
while Raikkonen is signed up until the end of 2009.

Luca Badoer will be the official test driver once again.

Schumi is extremely happy today because
1. He won his 90th GP win
2. He cut down the point different between him and Alonso down to 2.
3. The 10 point gain is not because of the Alonso's earlier penalty, but Alonso's technical problem.

My bro said that Kimi didn't actually racing out there but just "cruising" behind Schumi, what do you think?
PS: He raised the comment before the race over.

Today result is unofficial Ferrari 1-2.

comment from Alonso

Defiant Alonso vows to fight on
10 September 2006
http://www.f1racing.net/en/news.php?newsID=129565

Fernando Alonso remained defiant in his criticism of the decision to relegate him to tenth on the grid after he retired from the Italian Grand Prix with engine failure, having fought his way up to third.

"I had to push the engine harder to recover from the grid position," Alonso said. "I think one per cent of people here will be happy today - those who yesterday decided the race. I hope they sleep well tonight."

Defiantly the Spaniard insisted he still had the measure of Schumacher and will fight to the very end of the season to defend his title.

"In normal circumstances we are quicker - we were quicker in Hungary and Turkey and we should have won here with the good Michelin tyres, so I think we are fast enough to win," Alonso added.

Alonso's maths aren't very good, that's for sure.

Just the tifossi alone will account for more than 50% of the people there. I'm sure they're pretty happy that Schumi won, Ferrari won and Alonso's engine blew up in his face.

It's also nice to know he gets screwed up the ass by the FIA everynow and then too.

I really don't like Alonso's sore loser and arrogant attitude sometimes. It really gets me.

Kimi has his engine blowing up in his face for time and time again and he never speaks particularly sorely about it, let alone all his other mishaps. He just shrugs it off and says he's got to do his best. Alonso on the other hand whines and whines when anything doesn't go his way. I still remember his brattish reply when interviewers commented that he has been lucky that Kimi had been so unlucky the whole (last) season. I'm building some nice bile for this growing cunt. Kinda sick that he'll drive for McLaren.

si|verfish, perhaps he is trying to hint that there are only 1% Ferrari fans out there and he got.. 99%?

yeah, i do agree with your posting about Alonso's attitude

it seemed that alonso himself did not show the 'sporting' attitude in F1.

but this is life in F1. when u start to lose ur competitiveness, u will start finding excuses and point fingers.

same goes to Mika Hakinen, same goes to David Coulthard, same goes to Jacque Villenueve...even Michael.

JV is pretty good in that, but as far as my memory can recall, Mika never did that. He is the true gentlemen in modern F1 history.

Flavio just wants the publicity to gain attention. Can't believe that he even called media to their motorhome just to show the video of Alonso's qualifying run with Massa.

It was good to hear the sound of the airhorns when Alonso's car engine blew. During the race Alonso was mostly behind other cars and I guess that did no good to the engine.

Seems like the Italians will do anything to prevent Alonso from winning. I remember during the 2004 Italian Grand Prix when Alonso spun his car into the gravel, he asked the marshalls to push his car back to the track but they did not as they wait for Schumacher's car to pass him.

Ferrari would receive what Alonso would when they are in Spain...

something that we shouldn't miss.

Fuming Alonso says F1 is no longer a sport
http://www.f1racing.net/en/news.php?newsID=129511

sure... ask him how he feels about the sport when he is winning....

he should not rant with so minor problems... many other teams suffer a lot worse like financial problems.. mechanical problems...race after race... whould they rant about their issues...

maybe it is a "gift" to Ferrari for hiring him...hahahah

yeah agreed... it seems he would overreact over some backmarkers or slower cars(even on the same lap fighting for position) blocking him when he want to overtake...

Kimi actually never speaks...he used to show shove marshals away or fling his steering or helmet... now he is just ice cool calm...hahaha...maybe he know he was going to Scuderia a long time ago...

yeah... the 99% fans of Alonso likes pretending to be a Ferrari fan carrying red flags and wearing red shirts to every race...but deeply in their heart they support Alonso...

Alonso and Briatore are the whining couple in the paddock. These two are meant for each other.

maybe Flavio is his father... " Like Father Like Son"...long lost or whatever... you fill in the blanks...

Mika did sob and blame him self once when he mis-shifted and spun out of one of the double chicanes at the old Monza circuit...but he is a true fighter and is very strong willed...

that he has himself to blame... he knows the chances of that and surely his so intelligent engineers would have warned him about the dangers of doing so... still he insisted on dong so and risk the few Championship points he was to earn... at best he could have at least limit the damage done to his championship contention...

a bit unlucky for Kubica as he got muscled out of his position when he was exiting the pits... he must have been chating some pollish curse in his helmet to blow Alonsos engine up...hahahahha

in my opinion he's is a sotong. watched the way he celebrates/talk/interviews & it reminds sotong characters i've come across in my years (clients, school friends, etc) :X-:

kimi moving to the italian stable. kimi needs the change. He lost the 2006 driver championship on bad luck. (sorry alonso, you won it on pure luck)

too bad fins have bad command of the queens english & would always look unease on camera. Would love him (kimi) to be in senna's mould. (more steely & machoness about their antics after races)

i have always been a fan of mclaren since senna days but they have never been right with kimi's drives. (so many mechanical failures that deprived kimis championship run last year & before).

unfortunately we may have seen the last true racer (schummi). All current F1 drivers "dont" display the X factor outside the F1 circuit.

Its gonna be so difficult seeing Kimi race in the red suits of Ferrari. Feel sad for Mclaren for losing such a gifted racer and its only gonna be Ferrari's gain for landing such a quick driver. Kimi just needs a fast car and he'll do the rest and the way i see it, Ferrari will be able to provide him just that. Alonso on the other hand shows just how frustrated and how easy he's outmuscled when the going gets tough. Last season he had it relatively easy as his package was possibly the best. This season is different and Ferrari were really strong and Renault just couldn't live up to expectation and that leaves Alonso flustered and he starts to throw accusations. If thats his attitude, he's gonna have a really tough time in Mclaren next season.

it mclarens fault for losing kimi. they lost the drivers championship for him last year. & dont even start the numerous times they failed to live up with mika!! I have alway been a fan of mclaren but the inconsistency of their commitment to the drivers are a little to little too late.

kimi may not have it so easy next year as the ferrari will top brass (F1) may have a major change. i believe its not just schummi who moves on.

kimi is a ice cool driver but he needs the steely "win-at-all-cost" from the master himself (schummi)). Its a open secret that schummi is delighted that kimi is joining ferrari. schummi = ambassador for ferrari next year... team manager for ferrari in years to come?? I have a feeling it not the last we see of schummi in F1.

Don't forget that next year, all the teams will use a common tyre brand. While Ferrari have always been with Bridgestone, the rest of the top teams may find it abit hard to re-adjust to Bridgestone. That is where Ferrari will find it most pleasing.

On the other hand, Ferrari might also suffer a bit in terms of experience. Michael has always been the epitome of Ferrari and he's in actual a leader of Ferrari. The mechanics and other workers definitely look highly upon him and all those success he's achieved definitely helps to motivate the rest. I'm not sure if Kimi will have the same aura in the team as Michael always does. Kimi gives me the impression that he's in the team as a driver and his responsibility is just to drive the car to victory. Michael is a leader and he shows it off the track and even more in the track. Also if you realise the post race interviews, among all the drivers, Michael gives perhaps the best answers and speaks confident and really well.

yeah hard to imagine how Kimi would look in a red suit...

actually Ferrari is a better combination for Kimi... McLaren has been producing a few fast cars undoubted...but they lack the reliability... although Ferrari is not the fastest among the cars... but they have the combination of good reliability, speed, fuel consumption.. along with co-operative pit crews and intelligent team management and strategy... this are the most crucial things to a team as this is a team sport...

not really a common tyre... they actually have 3 choices i think... which is the soft, medium and hard or was it only soft and hard...much like last time when Bridgestone was not in yet...
