Japan GP 2006

Luck plays a big part. Who knows how many more GPs Senna would have won? What if Schumacher wasn't driving for team Ferrari?

the thing i like about senna, beside being a very good driver, he was manly enough to admit he smashed prost into the wall at the final GP because alain did so the year before to win the championship. but we know this isnt allowed anymore.

now, MS didnt quite admit to it whn he did to Jacques Villeneuve even if the pictures tell a lot. but we arent going to go that path about dubious driving.

I would liken alonso to the "alain prost type" ; unspectacular drive sometime(s) but calculated drive, follow 100% team orders, secure points first, drive to win ; in that order. (which is why we see more 'gung-ho' drives now that the title is in the bag

kimi? flat out drives even if the car isnt as reliable as he would have hope. if there is a choice to nurture drive for at least point(s) but no; "the car has to endure whatever it takes & if it fails to finish; its the cars fault mentality" a little chip of senna's mould.

both are 100% commited drivers but carry their task differntly .

I cant recall watching and F1 races with sena in it, but i do know how he died tragicaly..If we are gonna keep on camparing if its gonna be Kimi or Alanso this thread is gonna reach 500..and we wont have a definate winner still .. So lets talk about the other 18 drivers there !! ...

Iam curious how Minardi can sustain the $$$ burden needed for a race .. they dont win any..so who is backing the team laaa ?? ... some millionare ah .. If roman bought Minardi .. wouh ! .. tht would be awesome ! .. Chelsea on Wheels ..

:secruity: Dudes ... If BMW are gonna buy over Red Bull, then what will happen to the partnership with Petronas huh ? .. Is this least season to see a PETRONAS sticker on the side pod of a F1 car .. hehe geuss thats the end of all the F1 based commercials

Well, they can always sponsor some other team. Red Bull maybe? Jordan? Who knows.

Isnt Jordan being taken over by another team next season ?? .. Petronas must be rich enuff to put a team of its own rite ... they say they got all kinds of engineers working here and there .. Use Proton developed F1 enginer ler ..

Petronas has ONLY less than 10 engineers in F1 ler...i think about 6-7 of them there only...its damn hard to get into the F1 Motorsport division.....u need to b a genius or some kind to get there......n basically, petronas takes F1 as a publicity n advertisement for Malaysia......not so much of gaining technology n profit from it.....if it does, there'll b tonnes of engineers there d......oppss, off topic abit

back to the topic
YES agree wif koolspyda.....kimi is a flat out driver.....its a good entertainment n joy watchin him race.......

Which sponsor doesn't take F1 as a publicity and advertisement for their company/country? Why do you think Toyota is spending close to USD 1 Billion to date. Its all about advertisement, the glamour of being part of the fastest and technologically advance racing in the world. Yes, this boost their sales and last but not least, they'll gain invaluable car technology.

As for Petronas, they'll get to develope new blends of oil and probably come out with new engine technology and so on. Yes, there may not be tonnes of Petronas engineers working with Sauber now but even if a few can learn a thing or two about racing cars, its better than not being involve at all right? And yes, its good advertisement for Malaysia. Formula 1 has definitely open up Malaysia to the eye of the world. I say its a good thing we have Petronas sponsoring a F1 team.

Jordan will be renamed Midland F1.

yo the man says he had that line first... :albertein hehehe

anyway, i suppose even if kimi wins (or at least does better than alonso) the debate of whose a better driver wont end.

but there will be a lot of ayes on whose a does a more entertaining drive.
