Honda EG or Toyota AE100?

Hi all, got another question here. Which of these two is better in:
reliability(frequency of servicing),
FC,
& maintenance(cost),

Some ppl told me that the AE 100 is a very reliable car. Perhaps the Honda drivers here can have the answers. Of course EG is more powerful than AE if both run at original car.

hmmmm...i dunno much about toyota coz myself drive honda....anyway, 1 thing for sure, if u r driving honda with STOCK b16a...then u need to rev a bit high to get the uuuumphhh... i mean b16a is well known for its relatively low torque at low rpm....in this low rpm range, satria gti or putra is even better.... however, i admit, b16a is a relatively tough engine...reliable and also with fairly good fuel consumption

mayb some of you who have both honda and toyota car can give me advices. just wanna get a car that can last me another 7-8 years with minimum problems. I know this is rather general cause have to see the car condition first, so i don't mind to get a general point of view. thanks

both are reliable...but looks n performance for me i prefer honda anytime...can last forever...n become legend one day......collection like hattech doing now...

i think as long as u manage to find one (either EG, or SEG) with good running condition. then u get that lor..

because if u get a SEG (thinking of future maintenance is low) but if bad condition.. u'll end up spending more also if condition not good. and vise versa..
in a nutshell, buying 2nd hand car always a risk there to get a not so good condition.. and always need to spend some to fix up.. as long as u get a good part
then everything hopefully will run fine and tahan for long lor..
either honda or toyota is good car...it's all up to your own preferences...

if u thinking of modding car in future.. then get honda, cos honda more aftermarket performance parts which easily available in KL.

no offence to honda owner here, myself drive a AE101.. and i'm happy with it.

i think in stock form (assuming u can get 1 in good running condition), both also quite reliable...but honda looks better la IMO....either one also once u start modding it'll be a never ending things one lar...so reliability will then depends on how u "take care" of your car, whichever it is ler....

Buy toyota SEG! Can mod with blacktop (or was it silver top?) that has six speed transmission.

After mod.. more pickup than B16A... and cheaper too.

But.. honda looks better IMO.. and that's why I'm driving one.

What is your budget for a car? i recommend you to buy brand new car. Free 2 - 3 years maintainence free. can last you 15 years also can (depending on how u take care). you buy second hand car sure got repair. no such thing no need repair. when you repair every month also like paying installament. once you mix with ZTH member to go gathering you will naik gian to modify. when you modify you will spend more. modify modify modify then not fast enough modify then the car become rojak. then problem all start to come. that time you buy honda toyota subaru or mitrubashi also will give u problem.

buy HONDA and stick with it :baring_teeth:

thats why the MAIN question was regarding maintenance and fuel comsumption. AE100 would be the best choice. the modding question wasnt in mind.

but then again if you wanna mod, lets dump a 3SGTE with jun 2.2 stroker, T78 turbine, PPG gearbox...MOTEC M800...550whp. u say mod kan?

well to each his own.. I don't particularly like the look of the SEG... although it was one of my first choices of cars to buy and mod.

But if you don't mod second hand car... don't bother buying.. things will fail one by one, and then when you buy second hand parts to install in them, then they don't last long. Might as well get new aftermarket parts... Enjoy tinkering with them, and then enjoy the performance.
