if i am not mistaken... our GSR last batch is either somewhere 1995 or 1996..... so the newer version should be somewhere after 1996 onwards lol... so which means 1997 and above...

How much does the newer one cost?
How new is the newest one?

Sorry yea if im asking dumb questions. I'm still learning.
Now still doing lots of research planning to go for GSR if i do get a car.

Everyone seems to be having fun with their 4G93T. I want one too! Hope to be able to join the club soon. Speaking of which, anyone kind enough to recommend me? In search of a reasonable workshop.

I know this could be a boring post but if I don't start in 4G93T club where should I start right?

is a big forum site here, everyone is a friend over here, you can join us for teh tarik session and discuss with all the question you have. basically 4g93t is a plug and play into a wira, just that you need to find a good halfcut, and a workshop that do a full transplant and not skipping certain workmanship to save time. and last, welcome to the forum and club

btw i posted this in the car mod section, but didn't get much answers from there

what ecus do you recommend running with your gsr engine? what are you running with currently, and why did you choose that ecu?

kei,
brother, now we can join the TT together with 0-100 sifus already. i was thinking of joining them. but pai seh, nobody i know. hehehe.......
ask ur mech find the halfcut for u ASAP lor. have to take 2-3 weeks to transplant.

dolly,
y not use ur ECU that comes with the engine? i will go for matspeed if i tend to get a ECU. Y? i might get cams from them as well. easy for them to tune the ECU since the cams r theirs. piggy back like SAFC does looks actrative, but abit pricy.

well i'm planning to get a ful blown ems once everything is said and done, just need to know how much damage i'll be lookin at so i can save up.

i think gasket is made in local lah!
i will be going kl end of the month so i will help u comfirm the price 1st
then if everything is ok then i will ask u bank in the $$$$
the i bring it to kl to u end of the month

GreyAero,

He is searching for it now. Dunno how long he will take. But it is difficult to locate one these days? Got a lot of stock??

hey guys,
to answer your question and my personal 2cent, the stock ecu for your stock just dropped engine should be running good, unless you mod alot and tune here and there and with some heavy weapon in ya engine bay, then only you get a A) standalone engine management(microtech, motech, autronic, aem, haltech) and for those we are looking at 3500krm till 15krm, some including tuning some doesnt, B) piggy bags like, safc+itc, smt6, unichip and so on. C) re-chip, those like the j5 ecu is actually a re-chip and it's not consider a full standalone management, which freedom to tune is the key, mines chip and goes on which are pre tuned. my 2cents is that since u are not gonna do a full blown mod with internal, extra big turbine and super high cams, forget about the management when you are running stock, unless you are that loaded, i would suggest you to go for evo's engine, value for money and power, and product to tune your engine.

and btw, gsr halfcut is a very common halfcut, almost every halfcut shop have it, if you need recommendation, and open to the best halfcut u can find, try messaging this fellow forummer, Yee, he got some good reliable sources.

speezone, do confirm the price with us. thanx. how good is the local made gasket?

points taken gsr_freak.

but what about these boost controllers, turbo timers that i heard about. i am leaning towards the haltechs since the price range is pretty okay, can buy it after 6 months and its got loadsa goodies in it.

could you tell me the essential gadgets i need? i'm sure i need some sort of afc to help make my car a lil less thirsty <_<
