satria neo r3

Reading this thread just made me soooooooo jealous!!! When the 1.6 CPS came out, I was like omg orgassm! And then they announced this R3 and saw the pics and write-up on paultan...just literally fainted...I printed a picture of this and stuck it on my wall in front of my desk.

I used to drive a Saga blm 1.3 manual, now driving a hand-me-down Honda City 1.5 vtec...which is decently fast...but the CVT box...and the + - buttons on the steering wheel...sigh. This engine needs a manual gearbox. I'm still looking to buy the R3...

Can I ask what are your financing plans? 10% downpayment and 9 years loan?

Also...have you guys 'played' with any jazz/city 1.5 vtec on the roads?...If so...was the 'game' even or one smoked the other?

Dude go for it, no regrets.
Since you asked, I had a run in with a jazz vtec on way back at traffic light front row next to me..our friend was acting cheeky made a face like" good bye to yr fake r3" which made me want to chase him for fun.
That car was hauling, sure ada some mods as hadn't seen a jazz haul like that..in short time was hauling 140+ in the country side, with oncoming traffic as his line was clear. I was about 1 car behind all way in 4th approx 5500rpm, all I remember was saw a clear stretch abt ~100m till next car and gunned the engine to engage next gear...to my surprise the engine opened up rev to easy peasy 7000+(took a quick glance as sound was like a howl) and was past him pretty quick in 4th! All the way was keeping revs healthy below 6k rpms....sayang my baby! Flicked to 5th and After that he kept a safe distance for remainder of journey behind till I lost him overtaking a few other cars and lorries.
BTW I havent installed my extractor yet...this Friday though! And descriptions from K69 indicate this car will blow by in similar situations easier.

One thing I might not mention is the car shift ratios are real super close except for 5 which feel longgar but car still rapidly charges on blipping the throttle in any gear.

Ahhhh that's what I like to hear, thanks for your reply rkbella33! U guess the longgar fifth gear is suitable for highway cruising. My first batch blm had a tight fifth gear, If I recalled correctly, either 80 or 100 already 3k rpm.

Anyway thanks again!

hi guys i'm newbies here my 0.2 cents, to me r3 products are too expensive especially lotus R3. why not buy campro and go to established tuner like matspeed or DNT tune or other tuners at nothern & southern m'sia to mod up and for sure can tapau r3 with a lot more cheaper expenses. he he:adore:

R3 is not about tapau menapau. R3 is about professional tune, right handling and exclusivity. if tapau menapau is the priority here then better buy kancil and put anything u possibly can inside the car just to prove it can tapau others

Let me ask hypothetically you could afford it, between the real Civic FD2 Type R and the Civic FD2 Celup Type R which would you prefer..? Civic Type R 200k vs Civic R celup say 130k ...save a lot.
Type R resale values are also super rock steady if you are savvy. There are many other examples here in same line.
End of day you make yr peace between yr bank account ,maybe yr favorite banker and goods you purchase. I wouldn't care to tapau anyone or anyone can tapau me, I have one indulgence and thats driving with friend on outings all over Malaysia/Thailand or few track days for the weekends/holidays. Lot safer than Bikes to me at least. I only got what I bought. I chose the R3 as its a complete package. You are free to choose what you want to do with your money.

Dont worry, if u change your extractor sure u can stay in par with others but sure do will be far far better in cornering. .

For other after market parts. well there are not same + they are not Limited Edition (with production number).

rkbella33 if u want join TT R3 member will make TT this friday, find them in R3gister forum. There are arounds 9~12 ppl coming this friday, including me.

yeah u r right mr sr member, what i mean is the r3 product are very2 expensive to ppl like me. Other after market product much are more cheaper and the performance almost equal or better than r3, ppl driving r3 are arrogant they think their car are very fast and himpit2 ppl some more. it seem like ppl driving normal campro are useless.(not all r3 driver's like that, having few bad experienced with them). No doubt the handling are very good.few years ago have seen r3 staff order cam from matspeed and then sold as r3 product.Nowdays maybe r3 cam order from down under. sorry for my broken english. Peace and cheers!!!:banghead::bawling::adore:

Dude doole you are free to choose and do as you wish.
But you dont need to resort to categorizing people as arrogant
etc . Its a matter of opinion in none of my posts did I say
R3 is the greatest thing since cheese and it isn't.
So stay calm. It's just a sharing forum you can join the party and we
will all be happy to have you as a friend. You can have the most
Powerful neo or gtr on planet earth with super bargain basement
prices and probably you are the smartest guy we know. It doesn't matter.
Who knows you may buy a veyron and pooh2 all of us one day. Then
Who would be arrogant?

No malice but we should all try to live in the same pool of learning. People can learn
From experience and right attitude.
It's just a car for god sakes! Enuff said. You can flame again and you
Free to do so. Think...

im not really sure about ur experience with R3 owners, but i never saw any R3 drivers himpit2 people like u said. but i have seen a lot of ah bengs drove like that

yeah R3 bought the high cam from matspeed. but do u think the cam can be simply plugged and play without proper tuning? i agree that other tuners can do this at cheaper price, but for me i believe R3 knows what they are doing with their research and they are the best for proton. to be frank i have never seen any neo cps NA with 145bhp and 168Nm

and just fyi im not an R3 owner at this moment, not yet..

Aw i feel ashame.. LoL.

Btw, to all SNR3 owner, i just did my aligment today and that GPS head unit update to Papago. 1st oh yeah, papago map is much much better than the previous one, better junction warning (as last time i miss lot of junction) and the radio signal have better receiving signal, dont know what they do, change receiver maybe.

Oh 1 more thing, if u ask Proton SC to do alignment,(chamber and all) please give them the R3 spec (get it from the R3 manual book not the Satria Neo manual) or your car will be tune wrongly.

cheers

....anyway moving on..!

So updated Papago was superb huh? Love the junction view. I booked first service on Friday and the Sales guys have arranged SW updates for me too.

So Friday extractor goes in, gps gets updated, the driver door lock feels tight, alignment checked, engine oil replaced with filter...:proud: looking forward !

What brand engine oil do you use?thinking ...and dreaming of what the extractor would be like...:driver:

Hmmm for the 1st service im using semi, the recomended oil. syns 800 if im right. Will change it to full syns after this either Motul 300V or penzoil.

PS: for oil i only use 95 in the 1st refill, after change to petronas 97, i really think i never use 95 again.

Ron 97...HA HA!!! Crazy shxt huh? Aiyaa I will become broke la like this...!
My experience so far with other cars not so significant to justify ron97.. threw this surprise which is super obvious on the R3. Tried both Petronas and Shell 97 Vpower. I liked the Vpower better as felt a lot more smoother and car was pulling nice and tight. check it out we can compare notes.

Yeah my friend also tell me that better use shell V-power. Will try it later because there is no shell station near my house.

haiyaah not yet la, thought u r ready owned it. that's right they know what they are doing but don't under estimate other tuners e.g. matspeed why r3 buy charlie's high cam, why not they profiled it by themselves? 145hp on flywheel if on wheel for sure losses 10-15hp not much eh. No doubt neo R3 are very2 good car, but what i mean is the prices are expensive(including R3 performance parts) to ppl like me.No hard feeling to all R3 owners just want to share my 0.2 cents opinion. Cheers!

R3 stuff might be expensive, because of the good brand image.
other than that i believe it's because they works.

all the manufacturer are quoting engine power on flywheel, nothing wrong with that.
losses on the wheel is understood.

maybe some other tuner can do higher bhp, but yet to see another campro CPS NA tuned with higher than 145hp.
this R3 neo came as a package, 145hp might not seen much. but R3 make sure you can live with it, and drive it to work on a daily basis.

Yup... try to find NEW car that have price around 80k with 145bhp STOCK with warranty 3years enough.... but then, well for R3, they got limited resource (example, P1 sure have they own term and regulation that need to be followed by R3 or P1 will not cover the warranty) hence that why OUTSOURCING is not a bad idea, save budget and can enhance from that. No need to do from scratch. Well that just my logic opinion.

Well what do you expect. We just slightly mad (sorry) because you come to our house then go bashing around.... Rude isn't it?

Sorry again..

PS: MY GPS ROCKS with Papago and new HU update system, no more radio signal interuption (better signal):adore: but then i rarely on the radio, the exhaust system sound is much more appealing, and the engine that being rev and shift during 7krpm is better!!!:adore::adore:

i feel ur above statement is kindda kurang ajar lo... y would u wanna step someone down like this?? u may b rich, u may afford expensive cars, u might love buying a cheaper car n start modding n enjoy the process... but everyone got their own thinkin n lookin for different things...
to me, respect ppl's decision... n if u dunno how to respect ppl, dun blame ppl for not respecting u...

btw, i'm also not a SNR3 owner... just driving a 15yrs old proton wira... cant afford such expensive car... n i enjoyed reading owners feedbacks on the car...

thankiu
