Hi guys, need help here. What HU should i get for a budget of RM 800 to 900?

My current HU kong already, after 4 years of using.
Helix Blue 62 MkII comps. (front)
Helix Blue 6 coaxials (rear fills)
10 inch sub powered by Agako amp  .... really cheap setup... but as long as the bass is tight, I'm happy enough.

Will get HU first, then later 4ch amp at around RM1200.

Thanks for ur help. ;)

all i can say is that never get jvc kd-g805 cos that player suks fos sq

pioneer has lots of good features in it for SQ

woohoo!!! Just called my installer and he recommended the Pioneer DEH-P5750 for RM800.....

So how?... good choice and good price?.... at least i will feel safe when a warranty claim is needed.... ;)

Anybody got any complaints or good comments about this one?.... quick tell me...

lovely... just lovely but u also can try an older model of my player (DEH-7650MP) i dun really know the exact model number but i think u'll get the idea.. the diff between the 7650 and the older one is the display only and i think its bout 900 bucks or so.

7650 not that bad it gives u lots of freedom when it comes to tweaking and calibration of sound.. so in depth that u wouldnt need a crossover, so yeah.. y not give it a try. :)

GL. (can call me at 012-6366619 - jeremy, if u need any more info)

thanks for the feedback, man.

I will look into it today..... ;)

should test out the ECLIPSE, there is one model that selling at RM800-900 at ACP, 4volt output comes with MP3 as well.. is value for money for this range...

pioneer 5750 is only selling for rm 738 at serdang. without installation.

got my alpine with MP3/WMA at serdang for 850. Can remember which model..but price comes with installation ;)

go for eclipse..
can get 900. but the entry level one la.. dats the cheapest..

You can check it out ACP ss2... with eclipse sure got no regret with the sound quality.. but features wise.. still can't compares to PIONEER and other brands.... but which is your main priority 1st? sound or features? hehehe..... for sure ECLIPSE design is not that stylo compares to the rest.... but for sure the design is better than NAKAMICHI.. hehehe... ;)

for RM1200, can get a used set of Alpine 9815, 6 chl TA, 6 chl xover, 5 band parametric EQ. very good SQ hu packs with tons of feat.

top up abit more, can get an export set of 9835 (heard that plp dun wan to bring 9833 in anymore). Same feat as 9815 but display graphic more cun and comes with a dc-dc convertor. basically its to replace the 9815 model.

My fren is letting go his Alpine CDA 7892. about 1.5 yr old. 50W x4, 3 pre-out including 1 for sub woofer. Internal cross-over and 4 chl time-alignment control. RM800. Its a good buy to me though. Good for ICE begineer

This may offended a few guys but i think i should mention it. No doubt Eclipse is a good SQ HU but that's only apply to higher end model like 80xx series and 84xx series. those mid range and entry level HU to me makes not diff frm those others brand in the market one. Same goes to Alpine and Pioneer. To me, only pioneer 8650 and 9650 can make it. the rest i find no diff in SQ at all. its a common deck to me. Alpine thr is a few old HU which is very good like one of its old pure deck HU. Clarion dxz715 and above series is good SQ HU but thn lack of feat in tuning capabilities. But there is 1 impress me the most. Nakamichi. most of the naka HU makes good SQ even the entry model 45.

Pioneer 4xxx and 5xxx series are good start but for SQ wise not really that popuplar. Get an Apline. Even though its SQ is par but it has more features than the pioneer and Eclipse.

If you seriously want to go for SQ then HU will cost you RM1500 minimum. Nakamichi is out of the question as its expensive but good.

For RM900++ get an Alpine.

Thanks for the reply, guys.

I got the Pioneer 5750 just before CNY.... just loving it.... :P

Anyway, my finance officer (my mother) just called me to ask me go book a Waja and sell off this Wira.... aiyoo.... just installed the HU into my Wira !!!!

So how?... the Waja got custom made factory-look double din slot instead of that silly integrated cassette player? I also wanna put my SAFC II under the HU.

Have to do all the work again, the sound-proofing and stuff....
One more question, my 6.5 inch Helix comps can fit in the front door panels? :(

Thanks guys.

ask those acc shop 2 custom made the panel 2 hold ur new HU n ur SAFC II also using those fiber glass....

DLegend, how much did you get the pioneer HU for? And how much does your helix compset cost you?

Go accessory shop. They got sell those 1 din plastic bracket one. price should be around rm55.

as for your door, hm... u maybe wanna think about it. thr r 2 ways method to do it. as the door speaker hole is too small for 6.5", u have to cut abit on the metal frame to be in order to mount on the door. The other way is to mount outside the door panel. doing this u may lose some midbass and may face some rattling sound as the panel is not as stiff as the metal door

Thanks.... will look into it...

Anyway, mounting the speakers on the plastic panels ( not the metal frame ) is a definate no-no.... all u hear is rattles !! :D
