Ok now since i work in a brokerage in KL and thats about the only thing i have been involved in for the past 6 years, I thought i would start a thread on the stockmarket. So anyone having any questions on investing or playing the stockmarket can post your questions here. Since I trade for the company and not able to have my own clients, I can still introduce those interested to start to some dealers here.

And for those experienced traders, can also post any rumors or hot tips here.

1 lot is 100 shares so it depends on what stock you are buying la and the price. personally 1k will get you no where. better play contra without upfront money. that 1k can be used to cover your losses if you lose though.

all the IPOs this year if you get at IPO price you will make except 2 mesdaq stocks. but the chances of you hitting the stock is low if you are non-bumi. i dont encourage buying the stock on the first minute it lists to make a quick buck unless you know the stock is going to be played up by insiders. the market is full of stags trying to come in make a quick buck and chow so the quote at listing is alredi way way high and when the day ends all those who got the IPO would have put pressure on the stock to come down.

not encouraging him to play contra le but a good strategy is always to hold good investment stocks like maybank pbbank tenaga etc. and contra play the second liners only upon hearing a very very trustable tip. you onli have 3 days before payment of your purchase so that 3 days has to count...if it goes up within 3 days sell and make the difference. no need capital at all. now is that investment or what!!!

I'm still very angry with my mom that she sold my Maxis lot at very very low price.. I got the share from IPO, she sold it without asking permission from me. Lost another chance to grab a japanese rim :(

Fred,
Coupe not ngam you to play, not class enough, get a GTR R35 or Fairlady 350Z instead. :)

holy shit what was maxis ipo around 5 bucks??? its like 10 bucks last close just now. now those are what i call investment stocks not for play play. hold till old.....

i think around 3.80, can't really recall, but it's damn cheap. So I make a indirect lost of 6 bucks.. hai...

errr bro.. isn't it 1 Lot = 1000units of shares??
furthermore, buying contra very difficult to make money as the time given to pay up is too short. not like last time 7 days.

This year.. market is going down.... sigh.. recession is around the corner again. the cycle.

good good play contra....then end up losing your wife kids house car and your dignity....

trueBluez,

how do u use the futures market to protect your investment in shares and at the same time place an order in option trade to capture the small profit?

Just a newbie in market try to find out what is the best way to make safe money, hope u don mind :D

dont be so negative la...it is true that many ppl end up losing everything because of greed but if you have the time to study the technicals you may be able to scrap a little pocket money here and there la. I play myself once a while and few hundred or even lunch money is still profit. its just when ppl sink deeper to try to make a quick buck is where they fail and fail hard.

well going into the futures market is not recommended unless you have experience in the market itself. however if you wish to hedge against your current stock portfolio you can.
we have the KLCI Futures known as the FKLI, say for instance you predict the market will come down but do not wan to sell your stocks in hand, you can SELL the FKLI.

say index now is 916 points and you predict it will come down. So you sell first and buy back when the index drops to 850 points, you gain 66 points X 50 bucks per point = rm3,300 and that means if your stock in hand dont drop so much as the general market you gain la and manage to cover your loss in your actual stock holdings.
