Just when you think Ford has done wowing crowds with its Mustang, along comes this Guigiaro-styled concept to grace the LA Auto Show, which kicks off this week.

Designed with help from Ford Racing, the Guigiaro Mustang has a cooking 500bhp version of the 4.6-litre V8 engine, helped along by a supercharger.

But it's the bodywork that's the real hot stuff with this Mustang.

Finished in orange, it has doors that hinge upwards and a windscreen that flows into and over the lowered roof.

Pumped-up wheelarches, a cleaner snout and sculpted rear end take the whole Mustang theme to another level of aggressive purpose.

Inside, it's just as special thanks to cowhide seats that still have the fur on them, and there's a liberal smattering of chrome across the dash.

Talking about his company's latest creation, boss Fabrizio Guigiaro said: "After taking it to its limits on roads outside of Turin, I can honestly say this car was well worth the 30,000 hours of blood, sweat and tears that we invested to make a modern classic."

Ultimate muscle car. American muscle with Italian flair.

fry balls car... juz kidding... =P

1 thing for sure, u won't drive tat car at 12pm noon... or put under the scorching sun after an hour or 2, damn kau2 hot inside, can fry balls edi the seat... unless u put 1000x v-kool on the roof... haha...

Its allright. There are production cars with the swept back windscreens stretching right up to the roof and other cars with panoramic glass roofs. They usually come with shades or tinting or something.

The Pagani Zonda for example, also has a cockpit bubble in glass(or perspex or whatever).

The powerplant is equal to what inside the daihatsu 5 tonnes lorry here! And their put it in a car whic is only less 1 1/2 tonne of weight. No wonder it can burn its tyres easily. 1 littre for every kilometre may be?

The front and sides look good but the back is just not my cup of tea.

The dashboard looks Pagani-Zonda-inspired....

i saw this..looks cool..but i think the headlamps..are a lot like the BMW 6 series..
still its a gorgeous car

the front look like terminator
but the back is telling some message, its say ''oops shit >.<''

er so when are they gonna put it into the production or is it just a concept ?

i thought the ultimate newschool muscle car = Viper 8.3L V10 goodness , almost twice of the stang and lets just hope it might get even bigger in the 08 model lol .

Viper has got the muscle but I'm not too impressed by the looks of it.

This one's probably just another one of the thousands of concepts Ford seems to make, but its got the best of both worlds, American muscle and Italian flair. That for me makes it brilliant.

hmm.. roads outside of turin? mountain roads?
does tat mean this muscle can handle as welll? :X-:

looks wise, i'd still prefer the Camaro concept..

silverfish : how about the ford GTX1 shown in JC's recent dvd ? . even though it has a smaller 5.4L V8 compared to the viper 8.3L V12 but it sure has Ferrari spanking looks and not to mention the handling too ( as reviewed by JC ) .

this is from the man who design the Scaglietti and the influences of Ferrari is very visible at this Mustang. You see, European doesnt mix that good with these American muscle cars. Ferrari summore.

but, hats off to Guigiaro. fantastic. bombastic.

Exactly. Ford GT (and GTX1) is more Ferrari than Shelby Mustang. It's a bit of a stretch to classify it as a muscle car ain't it?
