Skyline V35/350GT anyone?

Hi

I just found this thread by accident but I thought I would chip in a bit

I have had numerous Skylines over the years including a R31, a few 32's and 33's but recently I bought myself a 350GT as a complete change of direction. The plan was just to have a nice car to drive daily and I have a track car under construction (MK1 Escort)

I have taken the 350GT out on track a couple of times and it behaves quite well for a big heavy car, not so nimble in the tight and twisty corners but very stable at high speed.

Mine is the premium manual 6 speed with brembos, half leather etc, it also has Nismo S-tune suspension and anti roll bars plus R-tune pads...oh, and LMGT3 wheels :proud:

Here are a couple of pics

ahapartridge ...

welcome to ZTH mate

i had a chance driving the manual version and frankly speaking that the whole package is kinda awesome, power and handling is neither bad nor impressive but love how the car handle during >250kmph run

ur car looks cool mate ... but with a little bit of aftermarket bodykit ... it will look better

Cheers guys

I would love to fit a kit but we have so many speed bumps near to where I live and travel for work that it would just not be possible.

Superb car Pete,

Seems quite a few are landing on UK shores.

It just looks a lot more grown-up compared to the GTRs.

The aftermarket parts are rapidly being developed in the US, the Infiniti brand has a lot of followers over there and VQ35s are widespread.

There's now lots of stroker kits, short blocks, long blocks, turbo kit, supercharger kits and what-have-you on the market.

I'm considering buying one to take home to Malaysia. :hmmmm:

gobiz, what about the r32 man..

that track awfully reminds me of Nurburgring with all the trees surrounding the track. Pretty cool place there.

Just noticed more 6-speed 350GTs arriving ...... damn nice. All around 10k price range.

Brembo brakes as standard.
6-speed has been shown to take 650whp! reliably in twin turbo 350Z....but need heavy-duty clutch of course. Clutch usually slips around 400hp.

Just found out the early 350z and GTs had huge problems with the 6-speed gearbox.... looks like it's more likely an in-house Nissan rather than a Getrag gearbox.

Actually I agree with Nismo S-tunes point, local Msian tuners (and even UK tuners) won't have a clue with the VQ35 engine.

I'm going to stick with the tried and tested RB26 (actually RB30 :rofl::rofl:)

Ditto with the M'sian tuners! You mean UK tuners are that bad with VQ35 too or perhaps there's limited upgrades with that particular set of engine?

At least UK tuners are much better than Malaysia tuners loh...Over here they love to tell you PnP are the best and work best for the engine!
