It has a shelf life of 3-4 years. Any use of the pepper spray beyond the expiry date is HIGHLY unadvisable. as it will lose its potency over time. But anyway, any pepperspray should be tested by firing with half second bursts after purchase and every 90 days. This is to ensure it is in working condition ler so that won't regret when really need it that time. remember testing must always be done outside with any wind blowing from behind you. Or else the pepper spray will hit at you if the wind is blowing it towards it. :cry_smile: :D

But testing and normal usage, i think it's good to change one every year.

Just a question I was wondering :

What does pepper spray actually do? I know it makes u tears, but let's say the person closes his eyes when u spray or he turn away? Any skin or breathing reaction to the person?

hey bro, A pepper spray is actually a range self defence product. When an attacker is coming towards you, you just spray towards his head or even better, his face. The OC (oleoresin capsicum) sprayed directly to the attacker’s face will cause his eyes to shut and cause him to have uncontrollable coughing and choking. So even with the attacker's eyes close, he'll definitely need to breathe and then inhale the OC. And eventually when he opens his eyes later, he'll get the OC in his eyeball as the spray is oily and it'll stick to the attacker's face. The effect can last for approx 30 minutes which will give you more than enough time to flee from the place.

What about if he turns away? No worries on that as this pepper spray can be sprayed up to 7 times (tested by me). It also has a range of 8 feet and spray burst. (sprays out like shieldtox).

Just becareful when there's a strong wind blowing towards you, cause you might get the OC blown to your self.
