yea i noticed the gear knob thing too. its stil nice and everything. but im sure with time it will show scratches and discoloring.

ive just got mine. so i haven't pushed past 140 for very short bursts.
200+ ive never taken any car so if i do that my balls might go back inside. hahahaha

Ha ha info sharing does help! Mine has loosened up a bitband i think it's the tyres too. So just relax and drive it as it is. I tried movies from the internet on my thumb drive and works great...ESP in a closed space the sound effects are good. I decided on infinity tweeters and couldn't install and prob this Thursday.
Btw you might hear a tik tik sound like engine knocking or the tappets inside, it's the injectors and I also remove the plug on top of the air filter that causes the scratches on the box. Think also contributes. Will test that later today.
I used to hear a platicky rattles at back..turns out its the number plates were loose and vibrating. A little 3m tape and voila quiet.
Did also sometaping for test at the plastic below the ignition key hole , that plastic rattle disappeared too! Hope info helps.

Ok some updates..removing the plug improved the chattery noise coming from front and opening the throttle sounds more like what its supposed to be like! At idle hardly any tappety chattery noise.

Oooooo what tappet sound? My engine seems ok, no sound for now. Or the sound only occur if using Ron95? BTW im using v-power, i dont think i want to change it. I only got sound from the vibration in the dashboard only. Will try to find tape tomorow as today all shop close, Raya ma

BTW anyone know how to download POI update? as Peter (the GPS guy) said that after register the new papago gps code, need to update the POI because there is no SC for proton in it. Anyone tried?

Hi k69 the sound is only inside the car not while listening outside with bonnet open which made me conclude something else is causing the clattering sound when idling or open throttle position.

You can update by going malfree and registering the code on the box or card. Just foll instruction. To get SC ...search in address...should there

Yeah the SC was there but it not updated last time i check one of the SC already change to Produa SC, it around Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras.

Just be patient and let the car run in...I feel the car loosening and getting lot smoother. Just abt 1400 kms. Plan to get to full syn oil next service. See how that feels.

what type and brand of oil that u use for 1k km service? If I'm not mistaken SC will recommend fully synthetic oil for a new engine

No SC recommended sei 10w40..the tech was telling me with synth the engine will be a bit rattly for thinner oils. My take ..try it. The engine is high revving variety and keeping viscosity constant at all temp will be more important.

i also plan to change to fully sync oil on my car's 3rd service. maybe planning to change to motul or torco full sync. but dunno whether proton sc accepts outside oil during service.
anyone experience the changing of gear not so smooth?
anyway, i did try test top speed. 195kmj was the limit i dared to push. and it also happened because i was being pressured by perdana tailgating me behind. around 195km/h i gave way to that perdana. that perdana was really fast. lol.

You can bring yr own oil though as you are paying for it.
Ha ha most of the fast malaysian cars all have some mitsu
Or another engine of higher cc la. Take the fight on yr own turf

More power, more sporty..etc2."

Sooo..need some help here. Do you hv any well behavior good and polite agent contact number & his email address around klang valley, ampang, kl etc.

If u ask all of us of coz we'll poison u to take R3 haha. The HP is about the same for both cars, but inspira wins for torque. However considering power to weight ratio, u might feel slightly underpower with inspira 1.8.

But believe me u won't regret with R3. I was once at ur position, thinking whether to take inspira 1.8 or R3 since the price is in the same range. After doing some readings I finally decided to take R3. When I took my car last friday I know I'm making the right decision and will never regret.

If u need a good salesman u can pm me. He is based at proton HQ and I bought my R3 through him

Theres the million dollar answer...!! Ha ha..welcome dude!! Very good question though.

Honestly if you need practicality ...like ferrying mil, gf, kids, diapers.....don't buy the r3.
There are many compelling reasons to buy for a reasonable priced sports car that handles well and soon will be exclusive that will poke way above it's class. But if in doubt buy something else.
Reasons I got it was basically simple very reasonably priced new car, that handles very well as i like travelling a lot back country roads with my buddies in my previous rides, doing few track days a year, doesn't gulp fuel and ready for stag 3 upgrades.
If you do get it this little thing will grow to be part of you, and give you endless smiles.
I have been made fun of by some of the conti owners club I used to ride with, till I wiped their asses on some fun road trips recently...lunch time spent with them combing the engine, suspension wondering this car rides, handles an breaks away from them till they turn on their hp juices after the corners. Extremely fun! The handling is remarkable.

Stuffx - I am on semi syn costing rm102. Will switch to mbl 1 2nd service.

I live in Ampang too!!! Pandan Indah here, near public bank. That's my 'lepak' spot.

I'm just like you last time considering R3 and inspira as my 1st car but then i choose R3 as my gf / fiancée already have sedan(comfort) car for our future family planning. This car was choosen because this is my personal use car, not family. It depend on you dude, if u planning to have a family and dont want much hassle about it, its better take inspira, for me, any of those you are not wrong. . It's for your own good, choose wisely dont make any action base on us because the car is for you not for us, different people different usage.
But if you make SNR3 as your ride, all i can say is " WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!! " you will not regret it~ I really love the way my baby taking corner . . .

My milage about 3.4k now. Will change it to LiqiudMolly or Motul full-sysn in next service and im thinking to bring my own oil or the SC will disapprove it?

Wanza, hav to agree with you that inspira 1.8 really clash with neo r3. And to think that a fully modded inspira 1.8 manual will smoke us r3 in straight road. But few advantages we have, are our superb solid chassis & handling and the originality & exclusive. I did face few situations where my cousin and friends asked me "laaa kenapa tak angkat inspira?". I would just say because of minat. Snr3 is really meant for niche people and not for common people. I would those ppl who take inspira are common/normal ppl. Plus one thing why i am more sided to snr3 is because i dont want to be seen in a copycat car. Just my opinion tho. Anyway it's your decision and think wisely before u make purchase. Inspira is a good solid car too.

not as they say 150hp.. my frens just purchase the car. well he did some upgrade to his car like change intake, n haltech 1000 etc... then its 150whp. not really what they say from proton.. just crap.
but well its a nice car.. good ride. but for that amount of money.. u can get honda EK fully loaded
