I Have a 4G93T 1.8 GDI in Lancer and the engine is pinking some times, I can only get 96 octane fuel, can I retard the timing by moving the crank angle sensor on the exhaust cam, or is there some other way.
Dude i realized that you are in trouble simply you just change the oil some times oil is not fit into the engine requirement that's why engine is pinking..Whats update engine pinking is stop or not?
Retard the timing at the distributor. Very very slight. Do it in small increments and test and retest it. Do not go a lot at once. When i say little, probably 0.5-1 mm per move.
