This is Patrick Richard and he drives for the Subaru Canada team in the Canadian Rally Championship. He’s also 274 different kinds of awesome for his exploits in the video below.
Having gone in too deep on a corner at the Rallye Baie Chaleurs in the Canada 2010 Rally Championship, he flipped his Impreza rally racer onto its roof. However, this is rallying and lest we forget, it’s only second to Sparta in terms of madness. So out of the car comes Richard and he proceeds to flip it back right side up, all with his co-driver still strapped in. We can only imagine how the brief conversation must have gone, “It’s alright man, I’ve got it. You just stay where you are... strapped in upside down.”
Once that is done and dusted, he hops back in, sans windshield with dented roof, and heads for the finish line.
Little wonder that with determination like this, he holds more rally titles then you ever could in a lifetime on the PlayStation3 with Dirt. Among the titles he calls his own are the 2009 Canadian Rally Championship, the 2004 and 2005 Rally America Championship, the 2004,2008 and 2009 Canadian Open Class Championship as well as the 2004 and 2005 Rally America Group N Championship.
He’s also the first North American ever to score points in a WRC Production Cup and has never been beaten by the current crop of top rally drivers in the Rally America or Rally Canada Championships.
