Factory R34 GTR Turbos for sale. Came out of my GTR at 81km.
The R34 GTRs came out with ball bearing as opposed to R33 and R32 turbos, and they spool extremely well giving very very good response down low and good power. They do run out of puff at the top if your chasing big power, but my R34 with exhuast, Power FC, very mild cams (Stage 1, 260deg cams, 9.1mm lift) made 310kw @ all 4 hubs on ST Hitecs dynapack dyno at 1.2bar. (But its pretty much at its limit on these power figures)
These turbos reaches 1.1-1.2bar easy at 3000rpm from my setup.
PLEASE READ: Im selling these as i have had a problem with them. But 1 turbo definitly fine.
The problem behaved like an airleak and not a turbo problem.... It would boost fine, even down low, reaching a tad over 1bar of boost under 3000rpm.... but then as the RPM gained near 5000rpm, boost would start dropping off rapidly... and by the time it hits the redline, would be reading 0.6bar. However after checking and testing all hoses, wastegate, pressure testing intake etc... could not find anything, so i replaced by turbos and issue is fine now.
The play in the shafts are normal and moving the exhaust and intake wheels with your finger, they spin freely without any problems. No fins missing on compression or exhuast wheels. However suspect that the problem is with only one of the turbos, as the only thing we could find is a very very slight bend in one of the blades (see pic) However even with this, would imagine a problem with boost build up down low, and boost should still build up to the set 1.2bar higher in the RMP...
In any case, one turbo is still working great and R34 ball bearing turbos are a great upgrade should you be wanting a very responsive 300kw @ hubs for your earlier model GTRs. (or another project etc...) One turbo may need rebuilding however, hence the low price!
