my BT 20v engine eat motor oil

hi fren out there, i just my engine to BT 20v two month ago but now my notice that my engine eat motor oil. i have check myself there was no leakage. then got no asap putih come out de. any one know what happen to my engine????? some fren say valve seal need to change but how much it cost???? in another fren say maybe the motor oil not suitable wo/ i just use semi syn oil only ma but got effect one meh????? please help. thanks

exactly the same situation of my previous bt...

i use 15w50.. no obvious oil level drop since then.
if using 10w40 the oil level drop until half after a month.

depends on engine la bro, i only use 10w 40 because it is stated in the spec so i follow lor till now *touchwood* nothing..

my 20v engine oil level also dropping, but i think its more of a leaking problem rather than engine eating it. Cam cover seal might need to be changed >_<

Yup.. me too my bt also eating engine oil when using semi syn engine oil.......

Now, using normal grade 15/40W feel ok jo...... wut happen ler....????

i already change my eng oil for 4x in 7 month..that after me cnvrt to 20v after gze..after 1 month convert i change to castrol magnatec..1st using it eng really eat oil..after 3rd bottle never eat liaw..i change every 1 moth & 1/2..coz i get the eng oil rm55 p/bottle..

Me got fren sell to me..he using vtec...but not always got stock..so when hav i buy 3 or 4 bottle...

I have seen 4age manual on engine oil recommendation. It seems that new engine you could use even 10/10. And by the mid of the engines life use thicker 10/40. Final run would be 20/50.

I mean its logical the engine burns oil since most of the halfcuts bought generally runs above 50000km or more. Unless it is stripped apart and overhauled. There is no way to counter engine oil being burnt on an old engine.

even i use 20-50w now. but it still eating after it ran for 3000km but lesser la. actually what is the problem la... headach la

piston ring bocor/leak. that *should* be the problem since you say you use 20w50 and it improves abit.

the main idea of using thicker oil is to hope that it will be harder to slip through the piston, like in older car where the piston ring is worn out. Same thing happen if you use 5w30 in 20 year old car and it will dry out in a few hundred kilometer. at least thats what the mech at the wheel alignment shop told me before.

My svt also eat oil,after only 7 month of transplant,at first it was perfect,no eat oil nothing,after half a year,start problem,i'm using castrol gtx2 45W(or 40W didnt remember).It eat so much until half,change to thicker oil gtx extra 50W,eat very little now.During start off the line and picking up speed can see white smoke,but high rpm no more,and i think the condition should be worse months from now.I drive the car everyday and spiritedly..i think its logical considering the way i drove it,haha
