I am new to the world of Automotive.
I dont know much of the laws of gravity on car like tat.
I drive a used 1992 Ford now with no fuel injection.
I have never had a precision engineered automotive.

Question 1.

IF there is any existing thread on all you wanna know about TME in this forum please let me know.

Question 2.

What is the worst thing about driving this car for Weekends and at night showing off only.

Question 3.

WHY NOT TO BUY a TME ... ( I am not a well to do guy...)

Question 4.

WHY I should buy a brand new VIOS or what not.

Thank you very much for all your advise i will think very very through over them...

i think he is reffering to himself, not TME.

Further Explaination : Heritage Search Perhaps?

Thanks to those who has come to the defense of my ignorance.

I am in the mists to try and own this machine.

I am seeking more knowledge from the peeps who own or owned one.

Please any reading materials that are not done by Marketing sources would be fine.

Q1 -> in this zth there is a MLOC forum for evo owners to hang out :)

Q2 : Worst thing to drive at nite or showing off during wkend ? erm......we never tot of purposely buying for showing off le....we buy it to drive it n to experience the 4WD stuff n power lor LOL

Q3 : if u r worried abt maintenance such as changing oil n yes evo has tons of oil to change, from engine oil, gear oil, lsd oil, ayc oil, brake oil, power steering oil hehehe the change is ESSENTIAL in keeping a healthy engine n consistent setup machine, any short cut...u be asking for trouble n will be experincing mechanical faults to come later on which r costly to replace or repair

So if u r really worried abt maintenance, then better not....if u dun mind to pay a bit more to upkeep the car...then go for it.....

Q4. Why should u buy a brand new VIOS ( as compared to buying a E6 TME ) ??!!!! LOL..........2 diff cars diff platforms.....vios is a 1.5 NA....TME a 2 litre turbo......Fuel consumption wise.....of coz vios is much more affordable.....but well....like i said again....if u r just looking for a transportation from point A -> point B......vios or city or any other smaller cc cars even bikes can do it....y a TME ?? TME or evos is meant for driving experience....unless u dun mind buying it n drive it less as well.....by all means ...feel free to own 1......anyways wat i can say is.......MONEY CAN BE EARNED and there is no end to it....but experiencing such a car at a certain young adult age is even more valuable, and once u passed the time hehehe too bad lor .... :)

I really love driving...

The day I was born I cried " KAAAAAAAYYYYYYYKKKAAAAAYYYYY"
When I was Six I asked " KAR KAR BROOMM BROOMM "
WHen I get in a car I drive and drive and drive.....
Once had a job just to drive 2000KM per month....
Saw and heard about TME 5 years ago..
Wanted to feel how it feels to drive a car like tat...
Now maybe can sustain a powerful beast like that !

I always been a passenger with my friends in their beasts...
Up Genting on the trunk roads Hulu Yam Style ..
But never a driver...
I think maybe I dare to say its passionate to me to drive? anything I drive I love..

Thanks

well...
if like that go for TME man!
i think u're such an enthusiast already lorr

yeah, i second you. but i am thinking, an evo power is too much to handle for some...why not get sumthing least powerful first...

maybe SGTI/R3? there'll will be too much power hike when an ordinary person jump from 100bhp car to 280bhp car with 4WD, super big brakes and leech like handling.

many of us underestimate our own limit and capabilities...which explains for all those seriously damaged cars involved in accident nowadays.

Nice good info by DDgreystar. Its always good to hear from an owner itself coz sometimes i just feel those who don't drive and comment just talk too much shit. I did thought of buying an Evo 6 or TME and even Evo 7 but reading the forums of Mitsu's made me think twice. Turbo cars are real nice to drive around. Quite rightly said, its an experience thats priceless. I could sense the passion of DDgreystar when he talks about the TME and how the experience is such a special feeling. However, the maintenance and servicing puts me off. Maybe when i earn a bit more i will consider, my current paycheck will give me some problem if i do buy the Evo.

Also, kinda gree with Zan that jumping from 100 HP to 280HP is quite a big one and those who're not prepared will only screw up and get into trouble. So, do it gradually. Jump into powerful cars in small steps. Don't la from 100HP to 400HP.

then you say Evo6 TME,
is it Convert or Original?
Original will cost more than 100kish, and converted will set you below 100kish price mark...
Bear in mind the TME is exclusive and is one of the fastest EVO ever produced, ever..
Driving a 4wd turbo car is not all about showing off, its the Handling.. you will understand the way 4wd handles the corners and the tracks especially with the AYC..
price wise,
if you think you like the car, and not gonna regret anything 3-5 year later, just buy it. Go for what you like if you can...

i do love TME too...
and juz wondering if there's any stock unmodded running around?
does TME hv any electronic/electrical problem like 7s and 8s?

dont put it in such a way that everyone who jumps from 100hp to 280hp would use the peak power all the time . for such a power jump IMO you cant go wrong with 4wd with Brembo's for safemeasures .

hmmm....

buying an evo = rm 200k ++
maintaining the engine = rm 2000
petrol every month = rm 800

owning an evo tapauing every car on road = priceless

for everything else there is master card....lol....

That exactly is the problem. People who like to think they can handle the extra power and also would like to think the AYC's and Brembo's would save them from any harm.

But i suppose Evo owners now could have possibly 'graduated' from Wiralutions, Putra, Gti and then the real deal, Evo. So they'd normally could handle the extra power without much problem. So you could say its a step by step transition. Its those young rich fellas whom father buy a sports car, only for them to thrash it around and get into trouble.

Be prepared to pay for petrol and your consumption . tyres also go prettly fast depending on your driving style. You should be able to pick one up for pretty cheap these days but always check the chasis to ensure its a original TME. Some owners wont let their cars go for cheap and in some cases its abit more to pay then a evo 7. But then again its up to you .

Do take your time when you are shopping for one, hopefully you will get one thats not been abused but its pretty rare. Oh yeah and one more thing ... when you have an evo and you park it in your garage at night ... you wont sleep well ... trust me !!

Good luck ! If u are looking for one , do pm me .... i sold my ex car to someone and now its for sale again coz he is leaving the country. Its done about 50 k's and its hardly driven.

100hp to 280hp an issue? I jump from my 55hp to my 270hp car almost everytime I have the chance! Enjoying every moment driving both.

Don't see any problem driving a more powerful car suddenly. Just drive with good sense and do stupid things only on the track. Like DD says, do it before you're too old!

P.S. I don't think the TME is in the same price bracket as a Vios. Perhaps 2x Vios is more accurate...
