To turbo charge a campro engine? I mean beside the oomph, will the engine lasts? How reliable is it? Any over heating issue? I hope those situ who has done it before, your opinion is highly valuable to me. Thanks.... :biggrin:
 
I not sifu. But has been looking around for such engines. There are few companies that offer turbocharging Campro for around RM8k. It's a simple BOT with low boost. By right, low boost should be ok for most engines to take.

But the recently launched Exora turbo uses low comp pistons. Carmakers don't change internals is the original one is fine. That is extra cost for them. This had got me thinking how long will those stock BOT campro last...
 
Thanks veloc, yeah, my main concern is reliability issue as well. Dunno how long it will lasts. Actually I intend to turbo charge my wife's exora! :biggrin: 2 bad now only they launch the new model. Oh well, my as well do up the older version...
 
Personally I think it is okay for low boost. Most cars are okay. But considering that the compression ration is 10:1, it is a must to get thicker metal head gasket. And I think if you rojak the parts yourself, it wouldn't be 8k. But of course if those RM8k offer warranty, then better la...

I strongly suggest you find this xtremeleo guy as he has more experience on BOT.
