RM15.8 mil to renovate PM's home
B.Suresh Ram

KUALA LUMPUR: The cost of renovation to the Prime Minister's official residence, which began this year, amounted to RM15.81 million.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz said renovation works involved rehabilitation improvement of the air conditioning system, electrical system, landscaping as well as interior renovations, including the kitchen as well as payment to consultant.

"The renovation work has been completed and the Prime Minister has since moved into his official residence," he said in a written reply to Teresa Kok (DAP-Seputeh)

On the Prime Minister's private residence block which is attached to the official residence, Nazri said the government spent RM24.17 million in its initial construction.

He added the maintenance bill for the Prime Minister's residence amounted to RM242,991.50 monthly or RM2.9 million a year.

On the construction of the Deputy Prime Minister's private residence block attached to the official residence in Putrajaya's Precinct 16, Nazri said it cost a total RM13.51 million.

"The yearly maintenance amounts to RM1.46 million or an average of RM122,267 per month," he said.

On the cost of renovation to the Deputy Prime Minister's residence for this year, he said it has not been decided, as it is still in the planning stages by the Public Works Department.

comissions....

the most promising career in msia is to be a contractor....i will teach my son his only ambition is either be a politicians or a contractor..... :P

biasa laa..spent 1 dollar then report spent 100dollar....that is call mutiplier effect in msia econ....so in the end we see more ferrari...porsche or even pagani zonda.....your tax money is well spent..in partly contribution of importing more nice cars into our country...

if they dare to ask a neutal party to send a quantity surveyor to check out the construction then you will know how much they have stretched for the budget...too bad it will never happen...

From this year onwards, I don't pay incum tax anymore. If I do, I'll go over and put my name in at least one of the bricks used for this reno.

I don't mind overnite in the toilet if it's gold plated. I think the toilet is much bigger than my current master bedroom. I will take the GOLD door handle, 'kepala paip' & everything that is made of GOLD in the toilet. muahahaha !!!

True also e.g. petrol. But, there are some taxs that are avoidable e.g. don't go to restaurants that pays govt tax. Stop buying new cars, like I do. Buy Unker Ho's VCD instead of going to the cinema. Many more...

i heard there are even diamonds-mirror framee in the toilet!!! fulamak, i will take that one
