FF Extreme 2 (FFX 2) 14/7/2005: Review

Boy...Last night was the certainly the night to remember!!! Blackouts , storms and crashes...like FF drifting isn't hard enough as it is..LOLOL

Anyway, as I had mentioned last night ; Here's the thread for those who participate to voice out your comment.

As I had mentioned before, my only complain is that ; The speed that some of you guys were going at were down right scary!!!..As James and Keng had demostrated at the end of the night, speed isn't essential when trying to drift an FF. Playing with the weight distribution and knowing the right lines on the track is what you guys should be doing. Anyway , I believe I'm not qualified to give advise on how to drift but please try to keep the speed down..:)

For those who's wondering; Yes, we're planning to make FF Extreme (FFX) a permanent fixture on Sync Optima's drift activities. However, its all up to you guys..we can't have an event if no one turns up.

Anyway enough from me, tell me what you guys think?

for once i tot i saw FFK :p ...anyway, back to da topic...

not tryin 2 tell every1 follow wat i did but u guys can pick up da points u think is right & dump those tat r not & btw, i wudn't dare 2 say tat i can 'drift' da course nicely .....

for those who were der last nite, im sure u heard bout me mentionin bout my setup which was onli for da tyres....sumthing 2 add 2 it is tat u might wan 2 try botak tyres for da rear 2 increase da slidin time b4 da rear catch its traction back...

things tat i usually do der is ebrek when u don't hav enuff angle & hold it der until u hav enuff...when u hav enuff or over angle, release da ebrek ....dis takes practise & might b hard for cars wifout power steerin since 1 of ur hand will most of da time b at da ebrek lever...moving on is da throttle control...basically, throttle for FF is to control ur car's front end speed ....try not 2 do much adjustment to it 1st but do not not pressin tat either...ur throttle must b down all da time ...try 2 keep it in da torque band as it helps 2 pull ur car thru da slide & not out of da slide...

bout da speed is quite simple, u gotta try it & do go at a comfortable & safe speed....u don't need racing speed 2 slide thru da corner...its da best 2 start slow & gradually increase da speed 2 c wer da limit is ....

these r just da basics things 2 practise ....i'll touch da driftin technique next time....& do correct me if im wrong ;)

true what skagee and keng said... i was there last nite and saw the speeds you guys are going at are crazy!! u gotta remember.. your car is FF.. not FR... that's why u need the momentum BEFORE the slide and...like keng said... use your e-brake to correct angle and use your throttle to pull the car sideways.. not straight...

good effort by everyone. crashes are common for drifting... get use to it!

sorry for FFK-ing, but as keng said throttling to pull the car sideways....but do remember it won't last long, not even 3 secs maybe

tried on a crazy speed yest on a small corner, and managed to do it, but linked my oversteering and almost bang. Touch Wood*, good thing nothing happen.

But just for safety, if u can't control your car d, use pedal brake instead of Hand-brake. Forget about ur clutch for a moment. Attempt counter steering but don't forget to pedal your brakes,

Guys I can say that we are have unlucky day of last night, in very bad whether, for use is very hard to control the track safety like Nick Putra bang the old Civic is because we can’t give a faster respond signal to the driver in raining day, hope next time have a batter day.



Reg last night Skagee mention that some of the driver speed is very fast, as I think is not only the speed cause im the one in the track I see something more.

• Why in the fist event we don’t have this problem?

**Because the entire driver not follows very near to the front car so they can maintain speed in the track, we really need to practice this very well, we need to Maintain the distance from the front car, as who are follow back from my car your will know that I always maintain a very far distance from the front car so even my speed is fast I have enough space to cover back the speed or some mistake.

• Reg that our speed is fast?

**I think I have to let someone are not inside the track know one thing very clear, different car have different driving way and style, for Keng and Notkeng why they can do that drift in slow speed is because they real break system is using drum disk so is very easy to lock the real wheel makes the drift, but to some one are using full real disk( like me lah somemore In auto transmission……hai) one is cant make it cause if you not running in some speed the disk will be not lock the wheel so why some are the PPL having a fast corner entry speed, to do this what I always mention that your have to maintain some distance from the front car event your have any mistake also have place to cover back and for me I still don’t think that my speed is fast enough cause still cant really feel the G-Force yet…………hhahahahah if I not mistake my drifting speed is in 50~~60KM is that fast……………….?

• The small U-turn corner Tips

**Some of us have wrong entry line in the small u-turn, that why someone is spin out from that corner your have to remember that our is a FF car don’t use the front break and real break together it will make your car more Under seer, find the inline>>>break>>>turn and handbrake you will you will get the u turn very safe and easy , even your spin also spin in the inside corner not the outside so your will not drop in the longkang side, if your heven don’t know where is the inline yet Pls don’t do what I say , your have to learn more from KENG as I see he is the only one that get a very good Drift line, I still practice that .

• Advice to the new FF drifter

**for fist time to going in the tarck your dun care whether your car can drift a not just

Get your self a DATA see what thing that you need to setup for the next trip then you will be get more batter and batter.



Last thing what I wan to say and what I think of Drifting, ___Drifting is all about Speed>G-force>Style ______ no speed no force no style no meaning of drifting,

But beside this our Drifter JOP is we need to make sure that we have to take care all other drifter safety this will make us to go more far on this sport…….thank all of your guys give me a good support .

firstly....i like to appologies to all of u....especially SKAGEE and William coz.....i almost hit the RM18k equipment;) and thanks to have the event like last nite.....

actually that is my first time in that track....this is what happen.....the rain is really really heavy and the track condition is way what i'm expected...really wet.....and in that corner...my entry speed is laju sikit and i cant control my car...and i fell my car sliding like on ice...ehheheh..cant stop my car....then bang the box....my rear bumper also gone...ehheeheh.....then whole track black out.... sorry guys.....

after that...the next run i got the my my lines....then it's was fun...eheeehee....nothing to comment bout Keng a.k.a Francis and Typicalguy a.k.a Notkeng a.k.a James your the MAANNN.....you guys are really FF King.....sallute to both of u....:D

Our KENG got the title KING KENG after he married with the queen....


Practice makes perfect.....our KENG has being goin thru hell and heaven training and practice almost everyday since long long time ago.

anyone can be like him if undergo safe training ,he even bought a steering for his ps2 gt4..consider training also mah

learn more ff drifting...Keisuke Hatakeyama master of ff drifting using a ef honda will be better for FF drifting lorr...cause of the overall weight of the car..

damn! i din make it.. fell sick last min.. aiyoyo.. anot can see the FFK event..

yeah.. FF drift requires much much more speed den FR.. sometimes, if the corner is real big.. i dun even use ebrake.. if can push till 120km/h lidat, the car will automatically oversteer till it gives u the correct angle.. lol.. but in xtream park, i guess there is no chance to do that la.. lol.. mz ebrake.. but u all played with wet condition?

yea buy own helmet :) you can ask me wear and what for what price. (i don't sell them thankyou) i have some experience as i shopped around quite a bit before i bought mine and Val's.

Full-face minimum budget is RM150. Try to budget 300-600. You'll get much better helmets.
RM1000, cheapest FIA (open face tho)

see how much your head is worth :D

just wana to ask how to gain more traction in the front wheel.
the front wheel keep on spining everytime when i get enough angle. i want to pull my car sideway but end up the whole car spining and not drift:(

and where is the nice place to practice????
