no need to mention the status of UR items....since the only DIY for installing this UR fender bar is in video form (youtube) so i would like to post my DIY picture and steps doing it.... *this particular fender bar suits for: proton wira/satria/arena/putra and as well as mitsubishi evo123/lancer/mirage cyborg which bear similar chasis design.... mind you i manage to do it alone...it is possible..but i suggest whoever planning to DIY better get another person to help during the installation... #1st step is by removing the plastic wheelarch cover or known as "daun pisang" in malay term...just a few simple clips and screw removal.... *sorry no picture because i simply didn't have any (not using it) #2nd step u need to remove your signal light....it has a spring hook...just pop the spring out of the locking hatch....and put it on a safe place *sorry no picture because forgot to take it #3rd step is to remove your fender.....u need 10mm size spanner, 10mm socket wrench with long extension or 10mm T-spanner..... there is a few screw in hidden spot... -1 holding the bumper tip to the fender -another 1 u need to open your door to reach the screw hidden nearby upper door hinge... -next is 1 screw at the bottom of the door sill..u need to lay down near the car to see it....this one required some anti-rust wd40 spray to remove..... -then another 3screw that run along the hood-fender line -2screw that lock your headlamp -1screw that sits between those 2 headlamp screw - last screw hidden behind the bumper located nearby below the signal *sorry no picture because forgot to take it #4th then here come the nervous part...u need to remove 2screw out of 3screw from both door hinges...best if you keep the door properly closed and wedge the bottom part of the door with plywood or folded newspaper to avoid door miss-aligned later... http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/140/p1908121111.jpg *here is the look of it... p/s:the extra helping hand needed when fixing the door hinges screw back and along to help align the door properly.... NEXT!....standby a hand drill with suitable drillbit that can make enough hole for screw 12mm size... because the end tip of UR bar got 2hole for holding it onto the chasis...but on stock chasis this hole doesn't exist....so u need to drill it... http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/7083/p1909121111.jpg *one hole drilled..another one to go.... after both hole driller....put the provided screw and tighten it...for proton car u can hold the nut inside by using your finger...and don't forget to put some washer between them...... as u can see in this picture the chasis area of my car is bent maybe due to the fatigue...so adding this fender bar definately helping alot to increase the chasis strength.. http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/1227/p201701121111.jpg then tighten all screw and fit everything back....this i decide to have some miss-matching fender colour just for fun... http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/9892/p2056121111.jpg all done..time to test drive....one thing i noticed when going on bridges/highway joint bump, my dashboard rattle less than usual...and i can feel that my suspension getting softer (*it isn't truly softer) but now all bumps uneven road surface transferred directly more to the suspension instead half to chasis and another half for suspension....another obvious improvement was now "ngok ngek ngok ngek" sound that happens on uneven surface is GONE!..... does this product working?definately yes to me.... :driver:
