Dear all,

Im very concern of the latest development in our Toyota thread.
My issue is "Are Toyota room becoming Marketplace?".There is alot of classified topic emerging. No offence to anyone, but cant we leave the sales to marketplace???In here its suppose to be a technical, opinian or what ever discussion, right?
Yeap,i agreed ive done it too...but im sure its less than 2 topic..and because of that,i vow myself not to do it again,anymore....

Thats it...ive voiced my concern..I hope we can get a majority on this.
Please discuss.

I totally agree wif sifu zul. Jes make toyota forum as for technical, problem, troubleshooting related topics discussion. Anyone who has the intention to sell any stuff, kindly just mentioned that u got something to sell for toyota members and jes inform everyone in advance to refer to the markerplace where the particular thread will jes concentrate on buying and selling.. hope everybody setuju la.. :)

Peace :)

Regards,
Mike

the catch is, in order to inform fellow toyotarians about what they are selling at the marketplace section, ppl could/may have to still post a topic to provide a link there. not that im trying to sound bias or oppose, but this is a discussion, so that's my take on the situation.

im not against GT20V's suggestion, but the reality is, most people still have to post a topic informing others that they are selling something over at the Marketplace. that means that THERE WILL SURELY be replies in here that would discuss the items sold. so we go nowhere in that aspect.

My suggested solution would be a STICKY to "remind" our kind members to ALWAYS post at AND check the Marketplace Section often for items to trade, but we all know how well that works. Its a problem of instilling the culture, to educate ppl on how to use the forum sections properly.

Personally, I dont have a problem with "For Sale" threads as long as they are up and honest about it (no misleading titles). I'd just think of it as "broadcasting to a specific target audience". It makes not much difference to me bcoz we can choose NOT to click on a "for sale" topic that we're not interested in.

just forwarding my observations n thoughts.

well most of us dont go into the marketplace so often... i believe some of us just came in here and visit toyota forum only.. well, em.. no comment to leave this place only for discussion.

I have a diff opinion. I think it is ok to post here if the stuffs are toyota related. Coz..In the marketplace..most of the time, the stuffs sold there are non toyota related. Hence it is faster or rather easier for us to notice any good stuffs put up here.
No offence..Just me two cents. :)

agreed, no offence guys...cheers.

Yup, agree with the master..
and also with the rest.

my opinion as newbie in this room, i found some useful technical info, problem solving guide and anything related with toyota motors... many thanks for those posting the useful information

and it is kind of effective to do trading with toyotarian by using this room as well. coz specific item/stuff for toyota is a bit diffucult to sell in the market place..
it is easier to find what suitable for our toyota car using this room

but if the rules have been set & apllied... should not be a problem

hi guys,
the message is from GT20v. I'm really sorry to all you guys(especialy GT20V) cause i feel that i cause all this trouble from posting up the sale on the toyota forum. First, all the info bout pricing is from a friend of mine, he told me the whole half cut is 5to6K.. and the throttle body cost bout RM750 cause is hard to find and its 4throttle. Thats what he told me. And i never try to kon anybody here.. just wanna make some toyota friends cause i own a toyota too.and offer some toyota parts i have. The reason i post here because i thought that is easier to get a buyer from a toyota forum than the marketplace cause is a toyota parts. I also saw some other post on toyota parts so i only dare post.
I'm really sorry bout this. I'm New here. Correct me if i'm wrong, but never laugh at others if they dun know.. correct them . We are toyota pilots. Not trying to be cocky here, but whats wrong with posting toyota parts for sale in toyota forum? Is a healty trade between the toyotarians. Instead that, we even got good opinion from other pioneer toyota members on the parts that other toyotarians wanted to buy.(worth or not, fit or not, and etc.) This even can make all toyota members here have a better relationship and stay united together. Just an opinion from my point of veiw. Sorry guys if i'm wrong. Nice knowing you guys... cheers.

Create one thread labeled "For Sale Section". Post the link to Marketplace thread only there.

agree wif u there... but if there's someone posting something 4 sale, i've no argue if they
link their sale to the marketplace coz i'm not often open the marketplace tread...
but, any suggestion that is good with our toyota tread, i m agree... peace bro...

i think everyone's point is valid. in a perfect world, everyone should and would keep sales threads in the marketplace section, and like GT20V said, go check there or not is our own problem. but this is not a perfect world, and everyone thinks differently from each other. MK's single thread link could be done, but again, it COULD be cluttered with mixed replies and sometimes even misused. to be completely liberal, just like u said we have to cater for the ppl that may not like to sift through the mixed condition of the marketplace just to hunt for some lil old toyota part

it all boils down to culture. culture that we can all try to implement slowly over time. its just up to any vigilant soul to keep reminding everyone else and get enuff support from a number of ppl to get the ball rolling. there will be a small number of rogues in every culture, but thats normal. culture, and shift of attitude is the issue. if someone is strong enuff about changing this current trend, it will take a bif ingenuity, lots of commitment bcoz he/she would need to do it subliminally.

. . . problem is, i dont have a problem with the current way of thing! dunno lah, how would the majority want it? :D

adui...i thot wat this topic is about... since dis is a discussion topic...

wat u all think about prius?

true, any idea abt the price tag? i got the promo video last time, but it was in jap. the features arr.. wah lau. but that was the earliest model prius. dunno whats the scene now.

for me doesn't matter la whoever want to post whatever they want it's okay ... what i can't tahan is out of nowhere one fella will suddenly appear to sell his things ... and not to say the price is "reasonable" .... this one i really cannot tahan .. think toyota fella all so stupid ka ??? not pointing any fingers la of course .. siapa makan cili dia rasa pedas ...

BH
toyota echooooooooooooooooooooooo ...... :D

Yeah, Yolk that kinda is a bad thing too. But if the guy just care a little to post more details like changes all screws or cleaned, or port polished and stuff maybe the term "overpriced" won't be used that often. And then like u pointed out, those silly fellas that didn't care to ask or look at the first page to know what it is priced like that.

BlackHowling, are you seriously considering this car? This car is almost 50% electronics. I believe whatever "tetek" engine management out there cannot (yet) tune this engine. Lets see what we have to commit if we buy this car shall we?

- Low resistance tires
- Change of expired battery packs
- Workshop that can maintain it
- Not be tempted to swap a 400bhp electric motor (Look for Mitsu Eclipse concept)
- Install more gauges to look cool
- Hope to beat VIOS

I think u have stared at the TRD Prius too long. haha. Anyway Honda also sells hybrid Civics if hybrid tech is your thing. But only limited units if i remember. The car has this blue leafy sticker stuck on its side. But would you spend RM120K on it? If Prius was on sale here i bet it would come to the same price bracket. But lesser power.

as far as i am concerned .. anyone can post anything they want in here .. for sale or wanted or whatever laaaa .. but related to toyota of coz .. hahaahahaa ...
MK put up a good suggestion in a sticky FOR SALE / WANTED ... that will be up to the site owner laa whether to do or not ... sifoo GT20v might wanna email site owner to put up a sticky for obvious reasons ?? hehehehee

PRIUS ??? if i can afford it .. why not ?? its good looking (100 better than INNOVA) and saves petrol ... that is IF i can afford it laa .. ahhaahahaaa
