Hi Guys,

Do you guys have any suggestion or opinion on above subject ?

What type of clutch is suitable for evo..exedy D-Carbon clutch ? HKS LA clutch ?

How about exhaust system ? HKS HiPower ? or any other brand which is good in terms of sound and hp.

BOV...greedy type RS ? trust or HKS SSQV ?

As for clutch, lotsa frens n members (especially B18C-R) advise me to go for HKS Hyper Max Pro twin plate clutch rather than de HKS LA clutch... Pricing wise de twin plate r slightly higher but with proven results!!! It really did make lotsa differences to ur car response... De onli down side is u got u get use to it 1st... After tht it wil b ok...

:_:

twin plate quite noisy :_:

klang.. klang... klang...

but it was lighter than kancil clutch.:X-:

I would guess the HKS Hyper Max Pro twin plate cost arnd 4k plus huh...hehehe..

How about exedy racing clutch then ?

The main thing is no jerk on the gear engagement ....or what is the main objective we're looking for when choosing various type of clutch....

bro,
HKS twin plate good for cars below 400hp. Cheap replacement disk (sgd400)
Exedy twin plate same but disk replacement can kill u....ha ha haaa (sgd800)
If your car more than 400hp then go for OS or ORC
If u really got money then go for ATS carbon clutch he heeee

The main objective is...not all clutch can handle all range of power some will slip.
wat u need?
Easy to drive for daily use ? light?

Ohhh... Yahor... So far very seldom heard any Evo owners using Ralliart clutch... Mayb its hard to get 1 or izzit too expensive n not worth to buy???

Soundstream,

Bro, if ok do ask ur frens who r using de twin plate to let u hv a try... Am affraid u might not use to it if u straight go n change it!!! At de beginning it wil b nightmare during up hill!!! Hahaha... I means if got jam n somore u r going up hill la...

Are any of you using the Exedy Hyper Single? Is the clutch supposed to be so freakin' heavy?!? Man, it feels like you need 10kg of force to engage the clutch pedal, and after I drove my car, every other car I drive feels like the clutch cylinders are dead as the pedals go straight to the floor!

Is the HKS Twin Plate lighter than the Hyper Single? What are the advantages and disadvantages of a twin plate clutch?

S9,

I've tried b4 on my friend's evo ride. quite hard to press but it feels nice when pick up la..haha..

As for ralliart twin plate clutch, seems like nodoby came across this. Actually, i've found 1 set (2nd hand) and it looks great in condition. Just wandering, what's the special ralliart has on its product compared others...

Saw one set here in s'pore selling ard sgd3k

Soundstream,

Hard to press? Is that on a Ralliart single plate or HKS GD Pro/Max? The HKS is lighter than a OEM Kancil's clutch. The only bitch about this clutch would be that it cant handle half clutch (for normal smooth driving in the first gear but after that, its a breeze). It will jutter a little in the first but for launching, wow wee... kudos.

As for BOV, I've tried various BOVs except for the GReddy RS, nevertheless, this is the most reliable BOV I've ever used.

That's a VTA BOV. Do you have problems with stalling? Wanna get one but don't want to put up with the 'mati enjin' problem.

so how are we suppose to move from first gear(let say for normal driving). can show us some tips here? i have never drive a twin plate clutch before... maybe give some pointers here? Thanks in advance....

Hi NotiG,

Its a twin plate wor...hard pressing means the clutch release point longer (normal OEM proton car wira is shorter). Just Imagine when on the road, bumper to bumper. Leg sure pain la.hahaa..

BOV...hmm type RS price @750 lor...plan to pasang 1 la. Can i know in terms of what criteria the VTA BOV is reliable BOV compared others ?

Cheers !

cannonfodder,

was running VTA BOV + Open Pod Filter the day i got my car never did have stalling problems till a year plus later, when i swapped for an aluminium intake pipe, thats when it started to give me problem not only when the a/c is on, but also when its off. Am not too bothered bout it as I hardly drive it, and am only rectifying it this weekend, hopefully it works. Its not solely because that the BOV is VTA that causes this problem, as there are various aspects one have to look at but it seems that the biggest culprit is this. Anyway, Keong72 has been running VTA too since he got the car and has no problem with stalling till date, touch wood. I think Jun_EK9 doesnt have that problem too. To me, its because my plugs are worned out and also due to the fact that i have that intake in it. Will see what it'll be this weekend as I've gotten myself a HKS EIDS to 'lie' to the ori ECU which i know it'll work definitely. Or I might just plug in the PowerFC that I have eversince 3months ago which I use to calibrate my bed!

ckwhon,

Told you to see me when you were up in Penang then... lauching is fantastic and you'll know why you bought this car besides its handling...

Soundstream,

Dude, we're on the same island... come out and chat with us ler.. easier... We're a bunch of dingbats driving the same glorified lancers...

Noti,

That's good to hear. I really want a VTA BOV cos have to admit the Ah Beng in me loves the sound these things make. Will try one out and see how it goes but for me, stalling is a major no-no cos I use my Evo daily.

What are the ones that you guys have been using with no/little issues?
