Wasup all zth?

been missing for a while..busy working..now jobless..ha ha ha..
anyway..,the other day i went to one trusted workshop and found a VERY DISTURBING SCENE. The owner of the workshop is SELLING USED ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER to another party for recycling..immediately i talk to several trusted source and these are the findings:

1) Engine oil and oil filter are being recycled and sell back to market.
There are companies buying used oil to recycle and repack them in new bottle b4 being sold again..source is working for such company

2) Several used auto parts are being recycled also but sold as new.This is usually done by workshop.I kena,the bugger sold me wiper arm seconhand but charged me new price.
I also chg new meter cable but the thing didnt work until chg for 3rd time.All the cables been taken from new palstic wrapping;belum koyak with proton genuine parts sticker.

3) Talk to a source,several workshop are selling excess engine oil which customer didnt take after chg new oil.These oil then will be added up and repacked in new bottle.One of the mechanic is doing this to earn extra income he said.And most of the time he will purposely dont give/hide the extra oil from the customer so dat he'll get to kumpul all the oil.

I wonder coz nowadays,workshop are coming with servis package for example;

Package 1 RM 60 : engine oil 20-50w(normal one)
oil filter
labour charge-free

Package 2 RM 88 : Engine oil semi synthetic
oil filter
labour charge- free

I checked with auto parts shop;
engine oil (normal) costs u between RM 50 - RM 60 depending on brand and location
oil filter cots u about RM 8
Discounts given to oil are usually 10% - 20 % since they are controlled items
but still all the costs is about RM 60!!!

Dont tell me dat these bugger doing business without untung?? and where got people dont charge u for labour cost??especially in kl!!! and have u wonder why sometimes after oil chg done to ur car it seems dat the engine is noisier??? these might be the answer..

Worse ccase nowadays is dat we dont know wether we are buying original parts/brands rather than recycled one..

gosh,i'm starting to service my car by myself..maybe should get a training to repair cars also...

mineral oil very cheap only...

RM30++ and RM40++ got already....

and for oil filter, i think the package wont use original punya, they will use those around RM10 punya....

RM30 oil + RM10 filter, still untung RM20... labour for change oil and filter was around RM14...

:tongue:

p/s: the material price may lower if the workshop order huge quantity in 1 time...

if u know which shop use recycle oil, just 1 way to go, report... :biggrin:

if the most bad situation, the workshop use the cheapest castrol mineral oil... RM28+- only... white colour plastic 1... forget the model name liow...

hehe... :tongue:

There are companies buying used oil to recycle and repack them in new bottle b4 being sold again..source is working for such company
->now those companies no need use recycle oil to pack,waste time n need more prosedure,they just use lower grade oil just open it put in the higher grade semi or fully oil,example,u buy castrol semi price rm80 then they use gtx extra which just rm35,they collect those used tin n just put in it n resell,tat y need to buy the latest 1 which got free gift..normally fake 1 no gift,their excuse will be still store old stock

2) Several used auto parts are being recycled also but sold as new.This is usually done by workshop.I kena,the bugger sold me wiper arm seconhand but charged me new price.

Package 2 RM 88 : Engine oil semi synthetic
oil filter
labour charge- free
->the cheap oil such like hd40 or sae40 is for top up,or for very bad engine comsuption use,the price range rm18~rm22 per tin 4litre,lets say if calculate like this rm22engine oil+rm10 oil filter+rm10 labour charge just how much only,the main problem is the engine oil quality,price from rm18~rm160++
I checked with auto parts shop;
engine oil (normal) costs u between RM 50 - RM 60 depending on brand and location

-->if u use those cheap oil which tight ,u engine sure less sound,but less power also,if ur engine oledi wear off,then u use those semi or fully synthetic oil sure noiser

Worse ccase nowadays is dat we dont know wether we are buying original parts/brands rather than recycled one..
-->its hard for others ppl to identify those parts,just find specific n trustworthy autoparts shop or mechanic,nothing u can do

gosh,i'm starting to service my car by myself..maybe should get a training to repair cars also...

normally they will use the oil much more cheaper...

should be around RM30 only... oil filter as cheap as RM8 also can get... battery water RM0.5? :P

if i buy the oil and filter and let them charge labour, which around RM14... RM14 for oil change also damn expensive liow, easy job only...

my total price can lower than RM60 ooh... i can open shop also le... :biggrin:

btw, the oil package price may cheap, but they maybe will said ur car got some problem, then change this and that, there can untung also... :biggrin:

their motive is to pull customer come 1st... once u on the door, slowly makan... kakakaka

i believe the workshop owner sell it to certain parties then they recycle and pack again for sale. I have seen some cheap service package like rm45 for service with labour. Must beware of it.

where have you been bro ? this has been going on for long time already..

why not someone post a list of mechanics they think is a con and mechanics they think are honest? Sort them by region, like Klang Valley. And then subcategorize them too, like Subang Jaya SS15 workshops.

And then be able to rate them, like from 1 (very dishonest) to 5 (mechanic sent from heaven)?

huh? I thought all mechanic kaki pau laarrr... u befriend them oso they wanna pau your $$$...

that is why i never leave my mechanic alone with my car .
and i always buy the engine oil from the petrol station for the minimal con job .
when it comes into serviceing , i never the them touch my car alone .

as far as i know , they have a sindicate to collect those oil for recycle one . the used oil will be collected and then they will send to the shop to recycle it . maybe add X1-R ?

how about going to proton or perodua centre ?they wouldnt be using those kinda oil since they give warranty for their customer car... except if someone really want to make a profit out of it... then lain cerita la.

the SC center are still ok . they are running proper business , unless they sub it to the contractors , then it is more less not good for ur luck .
the problem is those shops , under coconut tree punya .

Hhmm.... with all these stories going around, I think there is ZERO mechanic that can be trusted. Albeit some may talk and seem very very stupendously friendly and honest, they may even be cutting your dick vein, if not your throat. Either way, they're still cutting you somewhere. So the bottom question is.... Who else can we trust?
Also, I don't think Proton will be honest as well. Basically cos they're still Malaysian. In all case that I would prefer to be proud of Malaysians, but there's just way too many cases for me to NOT generalize the mechanics as bad asses.
Even me myself buys basic service items from Eneos. Even then, the Malaysian manager may also be recycling/collecting left over oil and putting it in new bottles, we won't know. It all depends on luck.

As for the list, I'll start something.
When going to Vinic Auto in SS2 housing area (the single row of shops behind the Fire Station), be very very careful with them. They claim and show they have completed full courses from Proton but I've started to doubt them, ever since they fucked up my tappet. I only send my car for their labour, that's all. And I'm ALWAYS with my car while they're doing it. Don't want them to be damaging other parts of my car.

wat u mean tong besar? u mean they pump the oil from the tong besar to your engine is it ?
i think that is the gear box oil.
they drain the used gear box oil to a big bowl.... and then pump new gear oil into your gear box from undernearth.

the engine oil i got from Perodua SC are bottled castrol brand. they give u back the remaining oil. (i checked its new and smooth).
