Hi everyone!

Wanna ask, which Blow off valve is loudest and provides the sharpest sound?

please advice,

Thanks,
Tezt.

BOV sound depends on BOV type, piping and boost levels. But generally the loudest I've seen (and heard) is Sheepdog (fake ones also can) and the sharpest is Greddy Type-S (I'm using it :_: ).

loudest is blitz spuer sound ler speedy-san, boley pekak woo.. also depends on how u set the bov

I heard that BOVs can be tuned? how? and also it depends on position of BOV

from the turbine? sifu-sifus please explain.

Thanks,
Tezt.

Some BOVs can be tuned to release the pressure at different levels. They are adjusted on the BOV itself. Other methods is by changing the spring in the BOV (depending on the BOV type) to one with softer tension. Reducing the pressure too early results in lost of positive boost pressure. BOVs should be installed on the piping to the throttle body.

what happens if u install it too near to the exit of the IC?

just out of curiosity..coz i saw an s15 with a bov right after the IC.that's right..can see it thru the front bumper. XD

to tune the tension of the BOV..when idle u rev ur car till the bov release the sound then if ur rpm drop till wanna die off....means ur tension is not hard enough..tune harder till ur rpm doesnt drop below idling level...

Thanks bro turbonetics!

just rev it till the BOV release is it? and the rpm should not drop too much right?

Ok, will bear that in mind... Does it apply to all BOVs? Thanks.

Bro Speed Demon,

Between the throttle body and the turbine, right? Where should I place the BOV

for a better effect? Nearer to the throttle body or turbine?

Thanks a lot bro.

cheers all,
Tezt.

either both side also can... what do u mean by better effect..?? louder sound..??? put near turbo lor...

juz my 2 cents...

installing bov after the ic wud wastes precious air dat had been cooled, and dis isnt where the strogest boost is located.

that mean placing the bov between turbine and i/c and not between i/c and throttle body... rite..??

i'm using L2 and still using stock i/c... which position actually bov pipe is placed..?? near TB or turbine...??? u know.. the pipe is stick at i/c...

do like this if u want to get the loudest sound...

there r new players in town VF10, hoho..

aiyaa... use to have a kancil lor... but till now i still love those 3 cylinder turbo engine.. hahaha

yup.. and another thing, the BOV is near to the front grill... = louder BOV sound

Wow! Bro fawaz808 and VF10, you guys very experienced in all this BOV stuff

huh?

Near to turbine? What distance is optimal? 6 inches or 1 foot form turbine is

better? Which is the recommended distance?

Thanks bros,
Tezt.

not VERY experience laa... most of kancil turbo do like that

distance? up to u... L2 has a very limited gap/ space between the turbo & IC.. measure wisely laa... if u use SSQV better weld the adaptor directly to the piping flange.. don;t use rubber hose laa for extension.. ugly laa that way
