The Adelaide International Motorshow 2006 was held at the Royal Adelaide Showground from 5th - 9th April 2006. Yeah, only 2 months later that I post these photos, but they are a lot and had to choose the good ones out of thousands that I took. But anyway, it may not be as good as the KLIMS 06, but some of the cars and manufacturers showcased here were not present in the KLIMS06.

The Alfa Romeo came up with a pretty shocking new models such as the sporty 2-door coupe GT model which looks super slick and light. Another model that is attractive is the 159 series which has 4 doors but the only let down is the rear seats which might causes back pain in long journey especially when the back is near 90 degrees tilt.

The Aston Martin and Jaguar shared the same booth displaying their latest model. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage simply kick arse with it's smooth curvy line revealing a true sports luxury car. Also on display from the Aston Martin is the DB9 Volante. Jaguar however came up with the latest model for this year, the Jaguar XK.

Audi put up an awesome display this year with its model ranging from A4 to the executive A6 and the one off A8 with it's W12 engine, a similar design to the Bugatti Veryon engine. The A8 spotted the Bang & Olufsen exclusively expensive sound system. Then there is the new A7 4wd that is so big and luxury.

The Bentley displayed only 2 models but both are their top range. It put up most of the middle aged men interest but is still loved by all ages of people especially with its' sexy Continental Flying Spur model.

The next manufacturer needs no recognition, children and old folks all know this brand/make by just looking at the manufacturer's trademark horse. Yes, FERRARI and as always, they caught everyone's attention of all races, cultures, religious, colour, ages, states, cities and you name it. The FORD name is nothing doubtful in the land of down under. When you refer Ford to Australian, all they can think of is big boys V8 toys. Their huge V8 truck, huge, Falcon V8, Ute and Fairlane, Escape and many more, but what interest the visitors is their Ford XR6 turbo, it's fast and quick, but had to be performance limited set by the company so it does not over-took the performance of their legendary Falcon V8 BOSS 290kW, sad case but that's what policies are all about, but fear no more, the new tarmac tearing hot hatch is here, the Ford Focus XR5 Turbo!!!

The FPV stands for Ford Performance Vehicle, basically, is a performace tuning shop by Ford Australia. They produced top of the range Ford Ute with 290kW off it's V8 engine called the Super Persuit! Then there is the famous V6 turbo engine for the Typhoon series and the lastly the legendary, high demand, $65,000 priced Ford Falcon GT-P FPV V8 290kW BOSS boss.

This is an interesting display booth. Named the Fox Collection, I don't know what it is, but all the cars that are on display are of all the Mercedes Benz collection, some dated more than 60 years old to the latest and most sophisticated model. Note the 300SL old school! One of the coolest car on display.

Holden, the pure Australian pride. There is nothing else in the flat land of Australia that would beat the people's choice of all time, no matter kids or veteran. Australian kids are raised to respect the country's legendary automotive manufacturer. Kids are educated to look up high on the country's pride no matter later in their life whether they would. Holden is also the greatest rival to Ford Australia, hence they came up with all the funny names for their models, like Thunder, Caprice and many more. Check out their new LS2 6litre V8!

HSV, the same concept as the Ford's FPV, it stands for Holden's Super Vehicles, a tuning based sub that tunes Holden's top model vehicles with cosmetic enhancement and boosting the power of the engines. Here is the perfect example of HSV's Holden Monaro GTO.

Here's the CAR OF THE DAY. The car that attracted the most attention in the entire motorshow, the best car to ever come out from Holden and the most sassy, sexy, retro-styled ever. Introducing the Holden EFIJY (derived from Holden FJ), it spots a twin charger 6litre V8 engine, and there's only one built at the moment. The total cost of building this car is estimated at $250,000.

Honda has a rather few new models coming up this year. The new Accord Euro, the new S2000 (same but facelit), the new Honda Odessey, Honda MDX replacement for CRV, the new Civic 2006, and the Integra DC5 Type S, there is no Type R here, unless you import it by yourself.

Hyundai. What about Hyundai, they've never recieved any good reputation except for their one and only good car the Hyundai Tiburan. But this year's motorshow shows a new comeback for the Hyundai Sonata. Now even bigger, better, faster and luxur-ier. I hate to be the spoilsport but DAMN they just got to create problems for people to hate them. Take the new 2006 Hyundai Sonata for example, everything is perfect, from the look, the engine, a 3.3litre V6, to the quality and even the safety. It recieves an arse whopping 5-star crash ratings in the US, even the interior is so luxury it is on par with the top European cars, but they made a mistake, it is a 4-door sedan. 4-door + Sedan terms means, the rear must be roomy for the executives, CEOs and president, but no, it is not roomy enough, the seats are not as comfortable as the interior look. Too bad, still the Tiburan coupe is a better car.

The Mazda famous rotory turbo engine powered cars have long been stopped, but they made a come back with their Renesis Rotary engine RX8 with its wide open scissor door style. Then last year, they came up with the all new facelited Mazda MX5 ever popular roadster, now looks tougher and slightly bigger but still a small compact convertible roundabout.
