Thanks first sifu:biggrin:,as for my one is 5 speed, but when i buy the half-cut,i have try to rotate the wheel in neutral gear, and both wheel spin at the same direction, and this is the thing that make me curious about the LSD thing. And also the scrap shop ppl told me that this half-cut unit got full lock LSD,and the radiator panel have 1 cusco sticker.

Yup, some 5spd blacktop does have LSD depending on Levin/Trueno package.

Actually i am curious about this LSD thing long time ago, until now, what is LSD full lock means?People say when it got sound 'ktak ktak ktak' when turning,it is 'Full lock' LSD,how is actually the LSD classified as full lock,as i never seen LSD manufacturer use that word to advertise their product.

Any sifoo?

yup...i'm curious too...why full lock...why we need it to be both running during normal cruising ?

for me full lock is more like those drifter who welded thier rear drive thinggy...

all i know that there are only :

Eaton Locker, Frictional, Viscous, Torsen, Quaife and Active LSD...
which viscous, Torsen or Quaife suitable for FWD car...others is to harsh for FWD...but suitable for 4WD and RWD car...

Maybe 'full lock' is a term born in Malaysia..It is it full lock, then it should not be called LSD,it should be called NSD (No slip differential),hehe..All i know is LSD is classified into type of the mechanism, like Chinozie said. Most popular LSDs are Clutch type,Torsen and Viscous.Among this the clutch type is the most popular, and usually classified as 1 way,1.5 way and 2 way.But i heard a lot of ppl talking about 'full lock' LSD,makes me confused.

All clutch type LSD have pre-load,which determines how strong the torque needed to force it into 'open' differential during turning. This preload is usually by means of springs in the LSD casing. It can be change or 'tuned' to give initial feel before the LSD comes into play (during hard acceleration).I think people mistaken this as 'full lock'...hmm...just a thought though

might be...so called "Full lock" ...heeee...

1 way - LSD locks on acceleration
1.5 way - LSD locks on acceleration and some on deceleration...which is good in control during cornering
2 way - locks on both accel and decel...good for drift car...this is what they said...full lock i guess...:hmmmm:

all have thier type on driving on different car application...do google it...

I dont think so,but maybe some people means 'full lock' is 2 way LSD.

2 way LSD is called '2 way' is because it will lock on acceleration and deceleration(braking),which usually favored by drifters to initiate a drift during braking, rarely used on Front wheel drive car because if it locks during braking,it will cause understeer.FWD car usually used 1 or 1.5way LSD.2 way LSD does not lock under normal condition, unless the preload springs is very stiff causing the tires almost impossible to break the grip of the preload springs.

I have driven both 2 way LSD(TRD) and torsen LSD(standard OEM) and the feeling is very different. With 2 way LSD i can almost instantly lock the wheels under hard acceleration, torsen is much softer feel and hard to determine the locking point.

What are your opinion?
