I think slight changes in resistance wouldn't mess up the readings, but there's a reason why when you replace the TPS, you have to calibrate it. Wires affect resistance so when you make your own, those minor differences in wire gauges, length might just add up to make a substanstial difference. (trust me on this, I've done a bit of wiring work myself, although not on cars.) Sounds like a good idea, but I think you should see the wiring tuck article before you decide anything. I think a spare set of harness is a good idea, because unless if you're doing this for a living (i.e. you've done this lots of times), you'd inevitably screw up. But wiring tuck is always done on a original set of wires, not a fully custom one (although K-series swap craze has americans making full custom ones now for the EF/EG/EK, and they're not exactly cheap, if you're even wondering.. :P)Wait.. Molex connectors? Are you kidding me? Those connectors are not even vibration proof! They'd loose connection or get shaken loose, if you're thinking of using them.There is a reason why the original harness connectors have tabs and crazy shapes molded into them. They' have to be heat-proof, water-proof and vibration proof!Dunno, I never butchered my own wires to find out. as for higher rating wires and what it affects, read above, second answer.One thing I've learnt about wiring work when I was doing my EE course (fresh out of school that time) is that crimping is a compromise. Soldering and proper insulation is best.Actually I have the stuff like wire looms and stuff.. but chickened out on doing it.. I'll try post some pics, but take time oh!!And the wire loom in the picture was bought from a computer store.. I've since learnt that there is another version sold at jalan pasar for heavy duty equipment, and they're thicker and only available in black. what to mod on RX8

I had make up my mind and gonna buy a RX8 (M) on before April. Will spare RM20k for mod. Besides Koyo radiator (rm2.2k), what can I mod with RM16.8k (only engine).
