it was fun watching the toyotas leading the hondas by a number of laps by the end of the race, a refreshing result, but better luck next time.

if you guys decide to join class B, not bad also...you guys whacked the whole group except boy's DC5, which is pretty impressive already.

Until next year.

Congratulation to Maximus Racing Corolla AE101 :Kenny Lee/ C.O'Shannessy / W.Sherwood

These result are fantastic and only factory backed team can manage these type of result.
That's a disservice to the other Privateer teams. Overall winner is a privateer, 3rd in Class A is a privateer. All podium on Class B & C also privateer

we managed outqualify class B ......
Most years Class C cars outqualify Class B cars.

Basically without 82mm piston size, Kenny's car will still be very fast because of the overall package of the car and excellence overall setting.

But I really don't understand, why they must use the 82mm piston size and cause them to be disqualified from the championship. Really sad case.
I emailed Kenny and he explained the car only has 3 bhp more than last year.

But you are rite, the whole package is most important. Engine power , handling, drivers all contribute to better lap times, and a quick and efficient crew contributes to a strong race position.

82mm piston? ermm... i also no think just because of the piston can let's it win the Honda or get much faster. The thing make it fast is the Skill and pit strategy.

I think got other team going to rasuah it le. You know la... Malaysia full of the rasuah case 1.

Rasuah?? pls la, in racing the officials scrutineer the car post race if a protest & protest fee has been submitted.

DC5 runs in Class A (K20 engine is 2000cc)

But yeah it is good to see Class C not conquered by the endless EG & EK civics.

It was by far our team's greatest achievement, and it symbolizes our transition to a professional race team, more than capable of taking on the best in the region and beating them conclusively. We made 259 laps, which is nine laps better than any previous Class C car in the history of the MME. We gained a five lap lead over the 2nd place Class C car halfway through the race, and as per the pre-race plan we backed off to hold that gap to the end. As a bonus, we also beat all the Class B cars, with the closest being three laps behind us. The Porsche GT3 that won the MME outright did 288 laps, or less than 30 more than us.
We were unfortunately denied the title due to a misinterpretation of the rules that had the engine 13cc's oversize, but errors like this will never be repeated.

Our race engine has used an 82mm size piston, which has exceeded the permitted limit. So, the question is, does 13cc is all it takes to build a 5laps gap?
The secret of our distinct achievement of gaining 5 laps margin from the 2nd runner is all about our good package of handling, braking and cornering power with all under controlled by pro drivers, instead of what the term ‘cheating’ on engine power, alone.

From the lessons learned last year, we identified a number of areas in which the team and car could improve. We found four major items -
 Engine. As always, more power and reliability is better. We discussed the desired characteristics of the 2007 engine and how we could improve on the 2006 engine specifications to achieve this. The decision was made to use larger camshafts, more compression, slightly less revs, and more mid-range power to improve drive out of corners.
 Preparation. Far more effort and cost was invested in preparing the car, both in terms of assembly but the also the replacement of many items throughout the car that could compromise its reliability. We drastically improved the system of assembling and confirming the standard of assembly.
 Suspension. We decided to improve the cornering power of the car, and also to reduce understeer which would result in better lap times and reduce front tyre wear.
 Chassis strengthening. We have added additional points to the roll cage as well as lower arm bar, fender bar, anti roll bar to further improve the strength of the chassis.

The result of these changes were such -
 Engine. The car would exit all the corners with far greater power and this resulted perhaps the greatest improvement in lap times, though without extensive datalogging this is difficult to quantify.
 Preparation. Excellent! Everything worked 100% of the time.
 We were very pleased to find that the handling of the car was improved over 2006. This again gave us improved laps times due to greater corner speed and corner exit speed.

We are very confident that TOYOTA 4AG has the ideal package of handling, durability and power to succeed in MME endurance races. And yet, we had proof that we can even do it with a far 3 laps over the 1800cc Class, not to mention the lower cc Class.

MME07 has seen a TOYOTA dominate the race in Class C with qualified on pole position, and led the race from start to the end.
It has marked the change in MME history with a new contender for the Class C champion title.

The Class C battle in MME race will never be the same again.

After i go thru the clarifications above, only i know that Team Ultra Racing wons the race because of the four main reasons stated above instead of what their TEAM CREW said: we make the car fast..........team work........and blar blar....blar...

there is no such thing that the team crew or team work can make the car fast or bring the TEAM to victory! (AS MENTIONED)

Aside to team crew,

Next year be prepare to put more and more efforts in order to bring the TEAM ULTRA RACING to podium .......... again.........and then only it might be ONE of the reason to bring the TEAM to victory!.....
