ace79.. If you are in the hunt for a sgti, then I would recommend those from the year 99 to early 01..These are from mmc (I hope I'm right)...The kit comes complete with fuel & timing management (piggyback) so the safc is not require here, we try not to complicate things with too much tuning here and there or with too many tuning gadgets.. What I recommend is, install the sc kit 1st, then proceed from there step by step..ie: get the feel of the sc kit, low end responce & take off is still very good but will encounter choking at 4k rpm onwards, step 2 is where you get the extractor done (4-2-1) & open pod air filter with colder plugs, then get what step 2 feels like, step 3 is when you get the the complete exhaust system done, and thats where you get the max feel and power without any choking powering up till 6,800rpm. This way you get a new feel with every step of upgrades done and you could shop around longer for parts or save money and then prioritise what you want to upgrade next. At the moment, we have not done any test of the sc kit with siemens thus cannot say much bout it. Most gti's that comes to us are having some probs with the siemens or are simply unsatisfied with it's power and request a change over to mmc prior to fitting the sc kit....No doubt it's additional expenses involved but these customers are happy at the end of the day with it's power and smooth power delivery of the kit and the mmc change over....Only problem is these days every one seems to be in the market looking for the mmc loom and the complete kit for such a change over, thus increasing the price and availability...Just need more time in sourcing one..at the lowest possible price.. :D The boost meter is optional, reason being is there are many brands out there, be it cheap, expensive new ones, or 2nd hands which is better for owners to out source themselves...Install the boost meter when you fit the sc kit. On the mag pix that you saw in asian auto, the piping of the air filter is custom made with the relocation of the battery ( smaller size too) so I can route the air filter behind the headlamps for better cooling effect with a heat shield, both are custom made type cos they are cheaper then the ready ones...The extractor which I use during the picture shoot was given free from a friend so I wouldn't know what make it's from...For the next photo shoot, we are developing a new equal length stainless steel extractor that would see slight increase in performance compare to the one i'm using currently...its the normal ones you purchase over the counter. Yup, like I've said, nothing beats a test drive and have a feel of how the sc kit performs in your own words... Will keep a look out for any sales of good condition gti for you..Please provide me your contact or you could pm me your contact. Call me when you free for a test drive.. Regards gerard
