Hi guys..just wanna ask about the electric air pump/supercharger for the fd3s. according to the mech it seems to be jammed/not functioning. can it be serviced/fixed? any inputs?thanks
yes it uses full turbo..but it has this electric powered air pump which runs the belting..when my mech told me about it i was also surprised..went to read up and found that it does have it. its meant for lower end torque btw. that's why i need feedback from other fd owners as well. hehe.
and some have that removed also....

from my point of view it for assist the cat work better on lower rpm by pump more oxygen (air) into the cat so emission kept at manageable level...
and from my read up (google) if u run exhaust without stock cat then it is better to remove that unit as well...and things like shorter belt and some blanking plate to cover holes needed....
and from search also shows that unit not serviceable...perhaps u can check with rotary tuner on this opinion..
