Like all engines, there should be 4 mountings...left, right, front and gearbox. I would check the gearbox mounting first as the 3l's takeoff does put a lot of strain on it. Also do the following :a) Put the car in idle and touch the steering. Is there vibration? How much?b) From stationary, normal take-off. Do you get a kick in the pants?c) From 30 kmh, power up normally. Do you get a kick in the pants?For your gearbox, if it is still smooth on the upshift and especially, the downshift, there is nothing wrong. And gearboxes do not have to be reset...at least ours does not. The newer vehicles like the current generation Mercedes come with advanced ECU controlled gearboxes that have their own sub-ECU and may need to be reset.
