But this car has one up over the rest of the selection and that's the paddle shifters. It's not much useful unless you're alone and driving on track. Uphill it'll struggle and I'm comparing it with my Sylphy. The rear bench seats are mildly adequate but better than a Vios. That's not saying much though. Lastly the car has a lot of parts going for it in ways of Lancers and Inspiras, so in some respect the maintenance is relatively cheap. Not cheap cheap, ok-cheap.- Used Sylphy 2.0I'm assuming you're talking about the G11 model and not the newer models. The G11 model is the same one I have and it's got 2 inherent problems : 1. The gearbox overheats. But that's if you're speeding 160km/h for more than 30 minutes. That was the only way I got it to overheat. I drove the car in stop-start conditions, cruising within legal speed limits, uphill downhill driving, all no problem. Problem easily solved with one CVT gearbox adaptor and ATF cooler. Newer B11/17 and all come with it built in. 2. The brakes are inadequate. But that's probably because I upsized to 17". With good brake pads it's actually quite good just that I wanted more. Easy remedy since Skyline R32/34 are almost pnp into this car. Technically the above isn't really a problem if you're a sensible driver and keep everything stock. Btw, the stock 195/60/15 is super comfortable. Don't change this tyre size if you want to maintain the magic carpet-ish type of ride comfort. I made a mistake of going 215/45/17 and even with stock suspension it's bumpy. Acceptable bumpy but bumpy nonetheless. FC will range between 9km/L to 12km/L depending on how the previous owner ran-in the car. Mine is a problem because the previous owner was a slowpoke so I've yet to get more than 11km/L on mine, which translates to about 420km on a 40L tank (actually I pump only about 37-38L each fill. 40L is almost empty tank). There are other owners in the club that hit 600km city/highway driving and they hit this mark quite regularly. Space is incomparable. Nothing in your list has as much space than this Sylphy except the Teana. My Sylphy has incredible amount of legroom for both front and back passengers. I've tried pushing the front seat all the way back and the rear legroom was still a lot, even for a 6ft passenger. The rear boot space is enough to fit 2 of me comfortably and stack bags on top and I'm 90kg 175cm tall. The 2.0L engine is not a slouch and everything is designed for long life. Long life spark plugs, long life cvt gear oil, cvt gear chain, engine timing chain, there's very little maintenance needed. But being a Nissan, parts are not exactly cheap and being a Nissan the engine is somewhat complicated. You probably read about my complaints about replacing spark plugs requiring intake manifold to be removed right? You'll probably need to get used to the length of the car though. It's quite a long car. - Used Teana 250XV V6Nice car, powerful car, fuel guzzler and damn spacious. Highway cruise machine. City drive the fuel consumption will kill you.- Used Camry 2.0 (unless lucky enough to get 2.4 within that budget)Top or one of the top 5 most stolen cars in KL. And ridiculously expensive because of its high resale value. My friend bought a 5 year old 2.0 for 105k from the official Toyota used reseller (forgot the name). That's insane la. I personally don't like this car. - New City (anyone knows when the Hybrid version will be out?)Amongst your list this car is probably going to last you the longest. If you buy, don't buy the S or S+ spec. Buy the V or G spec. Pretty impressive rear legroom but loses out to the Sylphy. Very frugal with the petrol, very good to drive for a 1.5 and I don't say this lightly - it's a better drive than the Vios and Polo Sedan. Loaded with enough safety features to get you out of almost any situation it's probably the safest car in your list. I like this car.
