Anyone know how to HOMEMAKE fiber or carbon fiber?

of course, gel-coat NEED to mix with appropiate amount of hardener, and i think that 'blue-chemical' is actually blue-tint/dye.


car-polish? that's what i can MOLD-release WAX.

yaya.... wax... i try apply max be4 gelcoat then only put on fiber+resin.but its still stick to my bonnet lastime..... my paint all tear off when i open the mould out :(

it could only mean one thing: not enough layers of wax!

you'll need a minimum of 5!

i think an autoclave is a must...

can come to my workplace in bkt kayu hitam, we got three BIG autoclaves, sure can 'masak' your fiber :-)

can i find in somehere like ace hardware store in midvalley or somehere near klang and subang...

coz i plan to try it out on something easy first like a plastic container and when it turn out it will be a carbon fiber plastic container....

anywhere nearer ar...cheras is kinda far to me lor.or do they send home delivery =p

anyway that day i went to ikano ace hardware, i found the cloth for carbon fiber...i was too small to make a bonnet...they had varieties of fiber paste to make fiber(some with ready made and some not).....which should i buy...and i couldn't get the wax to release the fiber from the mould there. and i found the hardener liquid there...how to use it ar anyway...mix with the fiber 1 izzit?

the place i recommended is way way cheaper than ACE Hardware, and for the amount of material you saw, i can get for RM4-5 only. How much there? RM25-27?

and it's called woven mat fibreglass not carbon. It's white.
Carbon's black
Kevlar's yellow.

and everything you need for applying fibreglass + tools + materials are all supplied by these guys.

it's DIY. Of course you need to work abit right?
part of the great adventure of DIY is to find the best bargains, and it always require you to travel. It makes the work more exciting and satisfying in the end when you finish.
