, post: 1063357313, member: 2994"] Hopefully the seller doesn't end-up coming back to Malaysia and mixing with the wrong company. One of my lawyers who has this sick twisted love of criminal litigation had a client who was thought to be a drug dealer and government seized every single asset including ASB from when he was a kid. And then the client had to prove which of his assets were obtained legally and which were from the proceeds of the alleged crime. For the ASB - no brainer, they released it back because the account clearly shows that it was a joint account with father and son opened when the client was still a kid. The rest can potentially be forever seized as property of the Crown. That client isn't me of course and I don't have specifics as he explained without mentioning details. Almost made the cost of lunch worth it haha but then again, I did call 30 mins before and tell them to come across town just to watch me eat Subway and answer mundane questions. Least I could do was pay for his footlong. Anyways, despite whatever paperwork does not change the fact that non-Muslims cannot inherit from a Muslim even if he wrote it down 1000x in his exercise book (like punishment during school days) and signed it with his blood LOL. Added to the fact that most Malaysians do not have wills, die intestate, wait a year for probate then fight over assets anyway. Both are legitimate concerns. You can do your best to protect yourself but remember to factor in the added cost of JaHaX - rent in Bangsar is not cheap. But the cost of drawing up simple documents are nothing compared to the costs of litigation.
