load index and tyre sidewall stiffness

is tyre with load index 88 has stiffer sidewall campared to tyre with load index 84..?

well here it goes....i'm using ELII ext temp meter...and the problem is with the light.....only the light at the needle is on instead of the background el light ....so any of u experienced this problem? u know anyone...
