The Honda NSX is on its way out, but not before one final revamp to raise its already potent performance up a notch or two. This latest incarnation of Honda’s long-surviving supercar, dubbed NSX-R GT, was developed for racing homologation purposes in Japan and will be limited to a run of just five cars costing around £250,000.

The engine remains the same – a 280bhp 3.2-litre V6 sending its power to the rear wheels. However, the body has been heavily reworked with a huge front air dam, a larger cooling duct ahead of the rear wheels, a towering rear wing and an odd looking air box that rises from the rear window to provide added cooling to the engine bay – all in carbonfibre to keep weight as low as possible.

NSX-R GT!!!! the most expensive HONDA ever!!!!

aiyoo honda.... stop la upgrading ur old nsx. its now like just a toy for your engineers only. u can never compete with other supercars which not only have the engineering, but they also have the art and the beauty of it self. try to consider making a new car which is better than those nsx. i know ur engineers can do it. haih....

kicap .. nice comments, but its shud be into Honda's mailbox .. rite? anyway, we shud appreciate and feel amazed for Honda's super NSX. They come up with this amazing model NSX.

At its release in 1991, the NSX took many in the car industry and elsewhere by surprise. It was the first time that a Japanese automaker had made a car to compete against the products of the traditional European exotic car manufacturers such as Ferrari and Porsche and The Honda NSX "THE JAPANESE FERRARI"... 0-100KMh under 5 seconds.

Possible NSX 2006 (They brought up this concept in 2003 already, but not more realised, even Honda enthusiasts.. ;)

if the second pic will be the next nsx, then i shall take back my words...hahaha...
go nihon go....yareba dekiru zo!!!
tq sakuraguy for the pics.

i thought they scrap the plan to make it the new NSX.. there's a topic sometime ago on zth about that prototype nsx.. said the plan is scraped..

yup... actually they came up with few models of NSX facelifts .. and also made total changes, but .. still pending .. thats why recently they launched the non-flipping light with GT500 styled NSX in 2003.. due to they still pending the upcoming NSX..

Even the picture showed in Autoshow 2003 NSX cant be considered 100% will be released, they might release with some body work and facelift changes also .. cant estimate dude ..

sure they will pop-up another NSX .. that will rule the streets ..

cheers!

Dont think it's more powerful than Z2. Z2's spec is way better. Guess this NSX focuses on eliminating the overheat problem nsx-r had when push to the limit...

NSX looks fucking awesome
altought it's 10+ years old

but still the sleek and stylish design will be leading it's way for the next 10 years

errmmm... imagine .. those Jap guys already thought of this kind of aerodynamic designed cars on those days .. example. RX-7, NSX, MIATA .. pheww .. but sadly our own manufacturers still fighting hard ..

but the price tag is very expensive... this causes many to opt for other european supercars such as porsche and ferrari...
but only true honda freaks know its potential and worthness...

the so-called new nsx is actually the HSC - Honda Sports Concept
as opposed to the original NSX - New Sport eXperimental

though i have a feeling that the pics are photoshopped from the original press release photos of the new nsx-r IMHO

cheers

WTF? 250k Pound Sterling? Is that correct?

Nobody, except for Honda looneys will pay that amount for what it is essentially...a Honda.

essencially the GT boys/sultans can afford such a play thing. think of it as the "ulitimate final" NSX before bowing out. It only 5. so....

BTW, the news is also reported in all honda, car forums, international motors. it legit.

A Honda isn't exotic. Even if there would only be one NSX R GT it would still only be a Honda. It's not a Ferrari. If I was one of them rich farts I still wouldn't want an overpriced Honda. The average NSX R is about 70k pounds and that is already too expensive. You could get Porsches for that money. Just the badge alone beats the Honda by a mile.
